So, I went to the London premiere last night/this morning as a friend of mine was able to nab some tickets. Surreal and emotional is the only way to describe it. It was nice having the fans all in the stalls at the front and the celebrities all on the balcony.

Seeing it on the Imax again tonight.

I can't describe the film. I can just say I cried a LOT, I laughed and I gasped. We applauded, we yelled back at the "HOOOOs" at the start of Beat It. It was an experience.

One other thing - the days after he passed and walking around the tributes in the city, there were lots of people proclaiming their lifelong fandom around, and as someone who'd been a bit involved in all of that especially over the last 10 years, I was a bit angry that I just didn't recognise any of these so-called die-hards.

Going to the premiere last night and it was all of the same old faces. The people who made the effort to support him (the ones who were respectful too, not the freaky stalkers). I don't mean to be elitist, but it's just a bit funny how in each country the same 100 or so people are the ones that were always there when it counted.

we ended up with so many tickets because we were out in Vienna when they came out and numerous people bought them for us

i am typing this from my schools library as i study for an anthro test that i have in less than an hour, but i really need to say it!

THIS IS IT WAS GREAT! saw it at 12am with some friends and will see it again tonight with my mother. Really it was awesome, a great insight into the creative process and a nice look at what could have been, it is also a depressing look @ a dream deferred. you look at the man and all he wanted to do and its just like GOD you almost had it man. he still sounded good too for all the haters! while there were def. points dancing and singing wise where i was like HMM i had to keep in mind that this was JUST the rehersal and tht unfortunately he hadnt gotten the chance to do an all out dress rehersal. i wish he had. more importantly i wish he'd lived. i sat there in the literally PACKED clifton NJ theatre with people from all walks of life young and old literally smiling from ear to ear. my face hurt by the time i left lol. we sang the songs, cheered at the end of each and my friends and i even held up our sell fones waving them side to side at times. it was great.ugh. last night i realized how much i truly missed him. he was defintaely a force and impact on my life since the time i was a fetus! i remember as a kid writing mj fanfics, owning a fansite, going into the chat rooms + message boards *crazy times* working on a gift for him withother fans and even doing the various petitions. i miss him so much and am angry that it had to end this way. the man was so funny, smart and charismatic which we already know but this was def shown to the umph degree i nthe film. the man has some great one liners. all i have to say is LET IT SIMMER! haha me and my friends will be using that as an insider for AGES. ok i'll stop rambling now or else i really will fail haha. but seriously foklks, this is it was great. it may not be what you were expecting, it may be a little less, it may be a little more but you WILL NOT leave totally dissapointed. that man was a fucking GENIUS. long live the king forreal!

I remember being called a sissy and a f**got as a kid by classmates (and even family members) JUST because I listened to Michael Jackson (and Prince to an extent)

I remember as a kid going to the bookstore and seeing shelves full of books on Elvis, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles but 9 times of 10, wouldn't see a book about Michael nor Prince (which motivated me to do my own)

So when I see the fake love, all I do is smirk and keep it moving because I remember those times

^ Absolutely. I keep seeing the posters everywhere in every supermarket, Borders and HMV and I just think of the times when I'd spend every weekend trawling through the poster racks trying to find anything on MJ. It was easy in the early 90s but by the time I reached secondary school (High School) in 1993 [surprise surprise] it got harder. There was a brief resurgence in '95-'97 with HIStory over here in Europe but you just can't escape his image anywhere now.

I was just commenting that after all the "grief groupies" - thanks for that term Bexy - were out in force with the T-Shirts and vigils in the city in June and July, the real long term dedicated fans were still the ones at that premiere last night.

As for the film, I simply loved it. The "Smooth Criminal" sequences took me back to being a kid, and staying up late, and watching Moonwalker over and over and over again. It was so neat to see that whole video sequence. "What is he doing here?" It felt like "Moonwalker 2." I couldn't help but smile. For those moments, especially, and during "Black or White" - I felt like I did all of March-June 24th, 2009. Michael Jackson is gearing up for an amazing show. Wow.
Then somewhere between the ending credits (stay for the end by the way, after ALL the credits play), reality slaps you across the face, with its glove off. Michael is gone. I hate that.

As someone whose last memory of seeing Michael in person was that awful trial, which he still managed to smile to his fans during, and wave at us every day out of his SUV on his way to Neverland, this was nice. I'm so saddened to think of what could have been, given that in May, my mom told me she was planning a surprise for me to go see, "This Is It" in September. She was going to pay for my flight there. I was actually looking at flights June 24th and planning to book my flight July 1st. I remember my mom saying to me, "If he comes to America after I've paid for you to go to London, I'll be a little mad at our choice for not waiting, but you should go. You should be there."

Well, I didn't have to go there. Michael did make it to America. One month or so late. In closing, I LOVE "This Is It" and LOVE Michael, but HATE that he is gone and the feeling of him being gone. RIP MJ. Thanks for the show coming to America after-all. LOVE LIVES FOREVER.

People will always i'm not the biggest fan, but they have all MJ's CD's go figure .... ..that's just plain crazy....

I'm going to see "This Is It" tonight. I feel joy yet broken hearted. I hope I can enjoy the show and keep myself together. It is still so sad.
