5、Human Nature This one is cool. Michael was coming up with things as he goes along, directing the band where he wants a certain pop or effect. The falsetto was back! ALL LIVE


6、Smooth Criminal One of the highlights of the show. The Dome Project featured Michael in classic films such as Dead Reckoning, Gilda, In a Lonely Place, Angels With Dirty Faces, and The Big Sleep. He sang completely live during the performance


7、The Way You Make Me Feel This scene begins with Michael, musical director, and co-choreographer Travis Payne working on the arrangement of The Way You Make Me Feel. This one has to be seen to be believed. He knew how he wanted to sound, the exact pitch and timing. I believe it was a new pre-recording, but certain parts make me believe it was COMPLETELY LIVE


8、Jackson 5 Medley LIVE, LIVE, LIVE! Michael sang, stopped everyone because there was something wrong with the song, slightly admonished them and quickly said "But I come in love. L-O-V-E" I'll Be There was beautiful and a tearjerker


9、Dance and Shout This and other parts of this movie gave me a clue. This was Michael's way of giving these dancers and the musicians THEIR TIME TO SHINE. The music was Don't Stop Til You Get Enough and Shake Your Body with each dancer showing their own style with Michael joining in at the end with everyone doing the classic "Jacksons Point" dance step

11、Thriller I honestly feel if this had been in 3D, I would've pissed my pants This one was taking Thriller, Ghosts, and Threatened and blending them together. He knew the original routine....and did it a big ass jacket and Ed Hardy sweat pants!

13、Black or White Like I said about the Dance and Shout segment, Michael was giving people their time to shine. He had Orianthi in front and made it HER performance. He kept telling her "We're all here for you, this is your time to shine" LIVE


14、Earth Song Think of the 1996 HIStory Tour routine, but 10x times bigger then add the video clip....DAMN!. I'm not sure this was completely live. I think they used the What About Us demo vocal track with Michael singing over it



15、Billie Jean Michael wasn't giving 100% with this one and danced to the vocal track from the studio demo or another mix until it was time for the adlibs. Michael still had the moves!


16、Man in the Mirror Lipsynched but at the same time, they were walking through it and coming up what to do for it



17、This Is It (credits)/Heal The World dome project Beautiful ending with the song playing and the new Heal The World clip. Nicely done. It ended with the intro of Moonwalker (Michael's feet walking and then going on the toes....WE ALL KNOW THE INTRO, RIGHT?! )


This rundown and other reviews simply don't do the film justice. You have to see it, that's the best thing to do

Don't smirk be happy that young kids get a chance to hear MJ music "message" and see his pictures ... and he is now HiStory ....no critic or court room can ever take that away from him.... they took his human life but they could not take his human soul ....that's what lives....

Very few people make a lasting mark on this earth .....MJ is one of the few...

'This Is It' Premiere Draws Stars, Fans

Thousands of fans — and dozens of famous faces — made their way to the Nokia Theatre for the premiere of Michael Jackson's This Is It.

The documentary film, which was created using more than 100 hours of raw footage that was shot as the pop star prepared for his never-to-be comeback series of 50 concerts, is a behind-the-scenes look at Jackson's final weeks.

Director Kenny Ortega said the film's goal was to "tell a story for the fans."

Creating the film "was powerful. There was laughter, there were tears," Ortega said. "This is not the journey that we thought we'd be on, but we had to do this for the fans. This has been very healing."

Michael's brothers — Marlon, Randy, Jermaine and Jackie — walked the red carpet to support the film, which they said they had not yet seen.

"This is what Michael would like to share, his work. He'd be most proud," Jermaine said. "I want the film to show that with hard work and dedication you can achieve anything."

Choreographer Travis Payne recalled rehearsals with Jackson.

"Michael was at the top of his game. He was in wonderful form," he said. "This has been so tragic, but what would be more tragic is if this (film) didn't get out there."

Jackson vocalist Dorian Holley called the film "a beautiful piece."

"You could see that Michael was seeing from the first time his vision coming to life," Holley said. "I think he'd be very happy at this reception. His legacy is intact. Now his children get to see what made their dad so special."

A cross-section of entertainment heavyweights, including Paula Abdul, Jennifer Lopez and Berry Gordy, joined the Jackson family and the film's cast and crew at the premiere.

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert called Jackson an inspiration.

"We all loved Michael Jackson, and this is going to be a great way to celebrate the music and the legacy," he said. "His videos were like movies, and I hope to do something like that with my career."

Vivica A. Fox spoke to Jackson's everlasting influence.

Jackson "left us with so much," she said. "He inspired so many. He was colorless. He was a worldwide star that we will always celebrate."

Saw it last night and absolutely loved it!! My contact lense was hurting my eye a bit so people may have thought I was crying. I loved the "I'll Be There" part. Okay so I did tear up a bit on that part...

For everyone who's thirsted for more Michael Jackson since his death little more than four months ago, the wait is finally over. For the rest of us, it's time to look on in awe as Jackson's memory – and the legendary fervency of his fans – is ruthlessly exploited till the pips squeak.

the vast majority of this much-heralded and hyped film, and goes some of the way to plugging both fans' disappointment and his estate's balance sheet.

So, to the burning question: is there any intimation of Jackson's impending demise? I can't honestly say there is. In the footage we are permitted to see, Jackson appears in pretty good shape for a 50-year-old – even if his general spindliness makes him occasionally look a bit like Skeletor in a lamé tuxedo. He performs at walking pace for much of the time, but makes it clear he is holding himself in.

As for the film itself, I can simply report that it isn't too bad at all. It's pretty much unadorned rehearsal footage, artfully stitched together to create complete song sequences; and since the O2 gigs were intended to present his crowdpleasing hits, they're all here in their toe-tapping glory. Director Kenny Ortega puts himself in the frame quite a bit (sucking up to Jackson something rotten, it has to be said), and we learn that Jackson appeared to prefer culinary metaphors to describe his music: it must "sizzle", or "simmer", or indeed "nourish".

The big fear, though, was that fulsome homages to the man and his talent would smother This Is It in a coating of treacle; thankfully, Ortega limits it to the occasional sobbing outburst from the dancers or choreographers. We are instead offered genuinely interesting tidbits of Jackson's stagecraft, in the shape of intense discussion of cues, cherry-pickers and trapdoors – presumably to demonstrate how hands-on he was.
And there's some fun sequences showing the creation of specially filmed inserts, such as the intro for Smooth Criminal having Jackson being Photoshopped into black and white movie clips from the 1940s, fending off Bogart and Cagney.

Jackson's penchant for drivel couldn't be entirely eliminated, as evidenced by the sickly little scene, built around a small girl wandering through an enchanted forest, that heralds Earth Song.

Still, this could have been a lot worse. It's a bit much to claim it's any kind of viable substitute for the live show, and since Jackson avoids conversation as much as is humanly possible it's also a bit much to claim we get to know anything more about how he ticks. But This Is It a testament of a kind, and one that is no disgrace to his memory.

i didn' cry but it made me somewhat sad.

I'm gonna go see it Friday early afternoon again. I'd go see it today or tomorrow again but then my whole day would be shot, seeing as I couldn't go until 4pm.

Just reading the reviews and seeing the little clips I get goose bumps. Saturday is going to be an out of body experience.

i thought it was well done. Honestly, I thought it would be boring but it wasn't at all. Very well put together. The only thing I would want is if some songs I wanted him to perform . like remember the time....he's never done that in concert before. scream, butterflies...in the closet and take out bille jean.. sorry It was funny in some parts and showed the human side of michael. the real michael jackson, not the mj that the media has created. it would have been a great show...theaterically, dance wise, musician show wise, showmanship wise...it was so creative. I loved it. Michael seemed a little nervous at first then got more and more into it as the rehearshals went on. He seemed really excited for this show. The theater i went had quite a number of people in it. Lady told us that they had 100 tickets bought for the advance showing. it was great to see many mj fans of different ages and ethicities come together and watch this. People were very quiet in the theater....into the movie. It was funny tho....some guy keep on getting up and down and fell down in the aisle. one lady was waving her hand from side to side during i'll be there. they did a great job on this.

The classic routines were expanded tenfold, Thriller was lipsynched (It was a runthrough), but let me tell you, The concept, the new video, the ideas they had were AWESOME. It was supposed to be in 3D and if it had been, I would've pissed on myself in the theater


He sounded great on I'll Be There, some people were tearing up in the theater when he was singing it


and there I was sitting in my seat with the biggest grin on my face like an idiot. I felt like I was 8 years old going to the record store and scooping any MJ or Jackson 5 album I could find

If this show had made it to live production, I think it would have been magnificent. The props alone would have been stunning. I won't spoil it by going into great detail, but bring tissues...you're gonna cry if you have an ounce of emotion. Jeez, the man was simply amazing...May his soul find peace in His arms.

Oh, at the theater I went to, they gave a souvenir lanyard with a laminated MJ hang card attached...nice.

On one of the songs, can't remember which one, he tore it up, then at the end said something like "just to get a feel for it" like he was just taking it easy. And he probably was, he's so crucial on the stage that him just going through the motions is better than what most people do when going all out.

Also, when him and Bearden were talking about The Way You Make Me Feel, I think Bearden said something about putting some more "booty" on it.

Yeah, I liked the look! Made him look "normal."

Everything you have seen online and on TV regarding this film (clips, trailers, etc), with Michael seeming slow and "old" have been totally misleading. All this time, based on Michael's appearance in these clips, I've thought Kenny Ortega was not telling the truth about Michael's health. But Ortega has NEVER LIED about MJ's condition during the rehearsals. Do not believe all of the news clips and trailers. Go see the total film. You will be shocked and mesmerized. Michael Jackson sang and danced on that stage better than he has in years. Even I was surprised, but that's good considering he always wanted to display the unexpected. His voice was amazingly rejuvenated, and his LIVE SINGING VOICE sounded as if he was in his 20s/30s. His movements were just as precise as they have been during his last tours. Michael could still spin, run, do robotic movements, everything. MJ's youthful performances at 50 make Madonna, Prince and Whitney Houston seem like they're in their 70s. It's incredible. I expected the stage design and technology to be better than anything that has ever been shown before, but it still blew my mind. Nothing will ever surpass or even equal what would have been the concerts for "This Is It." I don't care who the artist is. "This Is It" is the paragon.

My rating: Two thumbs up! I laughed, and of course cried during this film. (I was cool all the way until the "Earth Song" segment started, and the tears just started flowing.) Michael still possessed that quiet leadership, and was focused on every detail. The way he spoke to the crew was still as soft, patient, and charming as ever, but he was in complete control. I love how anytime someone would make a mistake, he would correct the person calmly and "with love." And he treated his young leading ladies so well onstage. He told Orianthi (the guitar player) that her solos would be "her time to shine." And when he was grabbing and playing with his IJCSLY singer and TWYMMF dancer, for the first time in my life I almost felt jealous, lol. Oh, and I looked for that "body double," and there was one. But again, it's not what you may think: It was a STUNT DOUBLE, required for dangerous parts of the new "Smooth Criminal" short film. The man sliding down the staircase banister and running away really fast appears to be a stunt double. But that's it. There was NEVER a double used anywhere else during the rehearsals.

So please fans, who are resisting, GO SEE IT. You have to. I understand your frustration, but go as soon as possible. And be sure to stay seated until AFTER the credits end, as there is more shown before the screen shuts down. I'm still sad, but SO HAPPY I went last night. The editing of the footage used in the film is perfect. We (the audience) clapped for him several times, and some people cheered. It was really great.
