I think only the ones that believe the death is a consipiracy are expecting MJ to jump out at the end. Lol....

I think I want to see MJ perform the last time on a big screen. Second best to live and better than home.

You seem grounded in reality, your reasoning is clear, and I believe your expectations are achievable. You should have a great time. nod I hope you'll be reporting back with your review.

Sony won't miss the opportunity to release this DVD by Christmas, and I bet it will be loaded with extras not seen in the theater. They're not stupid, and they want those Holiday dollars (and the knee-jerk spending that goes along with Holiday shopping).

Apparantly they will and they are:

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have announced the UK DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of Michael Jackson’s This Is It on 25th January 2010. Michael Jackson’s This is It offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the performer as he developed, created and rehearsed for his sold-out concerts that would have taken place beginning summer 2009 in London’s O2 Arena. Chronicling the months from April through June, 2009, the film is drawn from more than one hundred hours of behind-the-scenes footage, featuring Jackson rehearsing a number of his songs for the show.

Available on DVD and Blu-ray, features are outlined below…

DVD

* Anamorphic Widescreen
* English DD5.1 Surround
* Subtitles: Arabic, Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English (UK), Estonian, Finnish, French (Parisian), German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Portugal), Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovene, Spanish (Castilian), Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian

* Creating A Comeback - Two-part Making of Documentary

I kinda had hoped for more extensive bonus footage... and also on the DVD and not only on that damn Blu-Ray... I'm not that advanced yet!

nod I certainly hope everyone that has bought tickets has a great time, but my feeling is that a lot of people who are excited about going to see this film in a theater are going to be sorely disappointed. I don't believe it's going to live up to the hype. I even have a morbid sense that subsequently some may go as far as to take their own life.

And while I realize everyone understands on an intellectual level that Michael has passed on, I don't think the reality of his death is really going to hit home until people realize that he doesn't make a "personal" appearance when they go to see this documentary. Because it seems to me ALMOST like people are expecting Michael himself is going to be there, or that by rushing in to see this movie it will bring him back for a time. Which is why I feel when those credits roll at the end of the show, hearts are going to be breaking left and right. Because at that point, everyone will realize... "THAT WAS IT!". And I think Sony is playing on people's emotions to yank those dollars out of as many pockets as they can.

I think it will certainly be a very interesting documentary, but I will be perfectly content to grab it off the Internet in just a few short weeks.

i think it will be amazing, i think you should go see it Evvy! biggrin

I can’t believe I haven’t bought tickets but I’m really scared of my reaction. I don’t know if it will live up to the hype nor do I know how I will feel about seeing MJ. I hate knowing how he wanted to do movies and now there’s finally a Michael Jackson movie but knowing how we got it just makes me sad beyond words. However, I know I’ll regret not seeing it in theaters. No matter how big your TV there’s nothing like seeing Michael in the theaters. neutral

Yes! That's kinda what I'm fearing too... I mean despite all the tragedy and sadness there was still something to look forward too... something kinda new, even though not in the way we all wanted to see it... once with seen the movie that was it! Everything else will be from the vault... discarded old work!

I'm with you. Every time "they" mention this was his LAST work, or that "Michael Jackson died", I feel like..."SHUT UP! WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!?!". My prayer is that Michael is at complete peace right now, and happy. I want to absorb his final works slowly, over time, and with deep appreciation.

The cd is AWESOME!!!! I love the pics and definitely the music is on point. The version of "She's Out of my life" with him and an accoustig guitar, brought tears to my eyes... I can hardly wait to see the movie!!!!

So true. I'm almost certain there will be moments which will be heartbreaking to watch but I have to see him on the big screen one last time.

Access Exclusive: Jackson Brothers Will Be At ‘This Is It’ Premiere

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Michael Jackson’s brothers – Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Randy – will, in fact, be at tonight’s “This Is It” premiere in downtown Los Angeles, Access Hollywood has learned.

Following weeks of speculation about whether or not the family would see the film, a source confirms to Access that they indeed will be at the event.

Last week, Travis Payne, choreographer of “This Is It,” told Access that Michael’s children had seen a preview of their father’s film while watching another movie and had asked to see “This Is It.”

Additionally, Kenny Ortega, Director of “This Is It,” told Access that Michael’s brothers planned to attend a private screening of the film last week.

“This Is It” premieres around the world at 12:01 AM Wednesday morning.

In Germany, lol We don't know about here yet.

Sony won't miss the opportunity to release this DVD by Christmas, and I bet it will be loaded with extras not seen in the theater. They're not stupid, and they want those Holiday dollars (and the knee-jerk spending that goes along with Holiday shopping). Plus, Sony would want to cash-in while emotions are still high surrounding Michael's death. This thing will be all over the Internet and in stores by December.
