Jeff Beck replaces ailing Eric Clapton at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniv Concert

In 1965 Jeff Beck replaced Eric Clapton as lead guitarist in The Yardbirds, on Friday, October 30, 2009, he replaces the British superstar on the bill at Madison Square Gardens for the 25th Anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert.
The virtuoso guitartist and his band will be joined by many surprise special guests. The original plan was for Clapton to headline and Beck and Buddy Guy to be special guests on Eric's set. Now Guy will join Beck and his band.
Beck appears on the new Joss Stone album COLOUR ME FREE on the track "Parallel Lines"[i]. He also will be on the forthcoming Herbie Hancock album IMAGINE. He takes a break from recording his first studio album in nearly 7 years (his last was 2003's [i]JEFF). The album according to Beck's manager Harvey Goldsmith, is set for a January 2010 release is being produced by Trevor Horn and Steve Lipson. The duo has previously worked on tracks by Yes, Whitney Houston, Cher, Tina Turner, Pet Shop Boys, Annie Lennox, Paul McCartney, Art of Noise, to name a few. There are tours of Japan and America to follow, including co-headlining dates with Eric Clapton at the O2 Arena for 2 nights in February.
