Imago

Their albums were a large part of the fabric of my teenage years, but not entirely of my own chosing.
My friends (and sister) were huge S&B fans, and I was exposed to her by proxy.

Tinderbox and Peepshow were in heavy rotation in various circles I floated in and out of. lol

It's actually been growing on me once I started listening to the remaster. LOVE "Green Fingers"! love

I love that whole album! I'm a sucker for strings, and I think they are used very effectively here. Plus, it's by far their sexiest album, and Siouxsie really seems like she's grown comfortable in her own skin, and the skin of her listeners. lol

interesting to see Join Hands as everyone's last album. I guess most Banshees fans generally consider it their worst.

and this is kinda off topic a little bit, but... does anybody else think "Cry" should've been the 2nd single from Superstition? I think it would have been a great followup to Kiss Them For Me.

It's definitely the band's sexiest album. Isn't "Slowdive" about masturbation? hmmm And I remember reading the lyric from "Obsession" where she leaves a lock of her hair, it's supposed to be pubic hair. razz

Attempting to record a studio version of "The Lord's Prayer" was a disaster.

I actually do like "Shadowtime" a lot. That might be because I've heard it a lot more from it being a single and watching the video often (love the visual of the entire band playing guitar in the video).

I'd rank the Superstition songs like this:

Kiss Them For Me
Shadowtime
Silver Waterfalls
Cry
The Ghost In You
Fear (Of The Unknown)
Drifter
Little Sister
Softly
Silly Thing
Got To Get up

Their videos are worse than Prince's. lol Notice I never said the "Shadowtime" video was good. Just that I liked the visual in some scenes of everyone playing guitars. razz

The Banshees videos usually come across as looking cheap to me, sadly. "Face To Face" might be my favorite. "The Last Beat Of My Heart" is good too--simple but effective.

Now that I think about it, the best Siouxsie-related video is "Into A Swan" from her solo album: http://www.youtube.com/wa...twhrnuS5vI

It's okay. There are a few songs I like on it. I didn't realize until he left how much of a signature sound Budgie's drumming was for Siouxsie. Now that he's gone, the music sounds very...generic.

Budgie was always a distinctive drummer - you can get as acomplished musician as possible to play on an album but when you are so used to a certain style...

I'll check it out if I get the time.

Really? It didn't even make my top 20 of the year it was released (2007). The tour was cool though. I loved both NY shows.

Yeah, i really loved it from first listen. Into a Swan and Here Comes That Day are killer singles, IMHO. If It Doesn't Kill You sounds like it should be a James Bond theme. Loveless is another big fave.

The four songs I like the most are:

Into A Swan
Drone Zone (the audience swayed back and forth in unison to this song when played live--it was an awesome thing to see)
They Follow You
Heaven and Alchemy
