Chain Reaction was the first Crusaders album I bought. My friend pops use to play this LP all the time, which weighed in on me buying it later own. Creole And Give It Up were the ones that made me love this LP. The other cuts like Hallucinate, Rainbow Visions, Mellow Out which seems to be a continuation of their PIWYWI are all nice cuts. I still love and play this LP.
forgot.... Those Southern Knights and Free As The Wind LP's are straight laced too. [Edited 9/29/09 15:18pm]

Covered quite a few Crusaders cuts with "The Professor" back in the day.
(I Felt The Love, Rainbow Visions, Keep That Same Old Feeling, etc) Larry "Legend" laid down the law for sweet singing guitar sounds on those Crusaders records. One of my favorite tunes exemplifying that sound is from the album between those two. ...Spiral (from Those Southern Nights) ...a live version of Spiral with Larry "Long-Hair" Carlton. The band is smokin' and Popwell is poppin!!! tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 [Edited 9/29/09 15:33pm] "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. As nice as Barry Finnerty and Roland Bautista were after him, there's nobody like Mr Carlton! ... Ndeed - Joe Sample, Wilton Felder, Stix Hooper, and Wayne Henderson were already a great combination, Add Larry Carlton and it really smokes!!! ... " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout
