It's funny that Janet mentioned that the jacket worn at Motown 25 was Katherines, but in an interview, Michael said he got it from a salvation army store around 1981-82 and said something like, "one day, i'm going to perform in this jacket"

oh dang i trust michaels memory more than janets lol

Maybe he brought it for that purpose but it never panned out so he gave it to his mum. Then finally decided to perform in it after all and had to take it back from her. Who knows?

I think he might have been too embarrassed to disclose that it actually came from his mother's closet. If it were me, I too would've fabricated a story about seeing at a Salvation Army store.

Sorry, it wasn't a salvation army. Here's what he said in the 1988 "Moonwalk" book.

"During the Thriller sessions, I had found a black jacket, and I said, "You know, someday I'm going to wear this to perform. It was so perfect and so show business that I wore it on Motown 25."

"MICHAEL JACKSON'S THIS IS IT” 2 CD Music Collector's Edition With Souvenir Movie Poster

The Limited Edition 2-CD Music set featuring the music that inspired MICHAEL JACKSON'S THIS IS IT including a deluxe 36-page booklet and souvenir movie poster is now available for pre-order.

Disc one features the original album masters of some of Michael's biggest hits arranged in the same sequence as they appear in the film. The disc ends with two versions of the never-released "This Is It." This song is featured in the film's closing sequence and includes backing vocals by Michael's brothers, the Jacksons.

Disc two offers previously unreleased versions of some of the artist's classic tracks. This disc also features a touching spoken word poem from Michael Jackson entitled "Planet Earth" that has never been heard before.

The package includes a 36-page, commemorative booklet featuring exclusive photos of Michael from his last rehearsal along with an 11x17 movie poster printed in support of the film launch (unavailable elsewhere).

http://www.michaeljackson...vie-poster

So the CD isn't going to actually contain him singing the songs live. neutral

Oh OK. But still, if it was meant to be released, why wasn´t it released during his life? I know they broke up as friends and maybe that it why it was not released. It sucks that now when he´s dead, he releases it.

Even if it is a low act to release something without being able to get someones permission I don't think Shmuley is releasing these tapes with bad intentions or a purely money-making motive. I think he really believes this will show a human side to Michael that no one really knows and views it as a way for people to see inside Michaels head better.

I think the friendship ended for the same reason Michaels marriage to Lisa ended. They couldnt handle what Michael was doing to himself and the world that he lived in. It was harming their own lives. I can't even imagine how painful it would be to watch someone you love bear that kind of pain and not be able to do anything about it. Michael was a stubborn guy who found it impossible to break his habits and ways of dealing with his problems. I can totally understand Michael and relate to the way he was, but I also understand Shmuley's, and all his 'backstabbing friends' side.

See, I am not sure how Mike´s habits were that much of a reason of their breakup, but I think the main reason was she woulodn´t have kids with him which is something Lisa, of course, won´t say.
I am also not sure how genuine Schmuley is. I never liked him, but the reason why they broke up was because he stole money from MIke´s Heal the Kids foundation and I don´t think anyone who does that can be called guniune and not the one with financial motives. I never liked any of those people MIke hung out in 2002/2003 - Uri, Schmuley and all those. Funny, he parted very soon with them.

I've got my tickets to 3 screenings of This Is It in Sydney, Australia.

On the Wednesday night I have Gold Class tickets - which means a small private theatre with I think 30 recliner seats in it.

Friday night - I am seeing it at a full on cinema.

Saturday night in IMAX.

Will be interesting to see how the different size audiences will change the enjoyment level of the film.

Anyone else get tickets?

I'm past sick of people, sometimes I feel like i just want a cat and that's all. People are sick, I don't know or care if it's just in this country or over the world but the exploitive mentality is sickening on all levels to me. What the fuck good is "friendship"? Shmuley and many others take the expert stance and also use the "may have" approach about the allegations, well, if you were his friend and you truly don't know, you wouldn't even say "may have done egreious things", you'd shut your fucking mouth but I guess that would be too boring and not newsworthy. How Mike maintained any faith in humanity is beyond me, I've just about lost all mine' and that's without all the uber-leaches that come out with fame, just everyday fuckers.

By the way Lisa talks I get the idea that she was going to have kids with him at first but then as she really got to know him, discovered how deep his problems actually were and just how self destructive he was and decided it was a bad idea untill he dealt with his problems and grew to what she thought was strong enough to handle the responsibility. Obviously by the way things have turned out she was wise in her decision, although I would love to have seen what there kids would be like.

amen. in the interest of full disclosure, i do not believe mj molested anyone.

however, if i ever once believed it for a second, i wouldn't be hanging around him, being his 'friend', and then equivocate on the subject. if boteach, et al really believed that mj was capable of such horrors, why be around him? why have your children around him? it's like that dippy wife of mark lester. she claimed that she worried about the allegations, but since they had daughters and not sons, she didn't think her kids were in danger. i'm sorry, but your daughters don't need to be around a so-called molester any more than your sons, and if you really believed that mj was a molester, you should have fought your husband's decision to bring your children around him. why would you or your husband want to be consorting with someone who you think is truly capable of harming a child? it says more about them than it does about mj.

See, if Lisa wanted to have kids with him, she wouldn´t have taken birth control pills. If she wanted to wait for a while, she should have told him and not promise that it would be the first thing they´d do. Can you imagine his frustration that after so many months of them being together, she was not pregnant and he didn´t know why? I am sure he was working on them hard. lol During their mariage, I´ve read at least two quotes by him that they were "working" on them and Lisa once said that he wouldn´t let her. She should have been honest about it cause she knew how desperate he was to have them. Maybe if she have had them with him and their marriage would last, many of his problems could have been solved.

I was thinking about the whole tapes and the more I hear from Mike, the more I respect him. I think that when he said that everyone else would be been dead or junkie in his shoes is so true. To me, Mike did the best with what he had to go through. Not having childhood, never getting to experience anything normal, having abusive father, being accused of child molestation twice, being laughed at for the way he looked (it´s funny how the world that is obssesed with looks and not getting old points to him as having mental problems for saying he did not want to grow old), getting accused for not wanting to be black while he had vitiligo, everyone using you or betraying you....Mike, how in the world did you manage to get through all that and maitain some optimism and faith in human kind especially when you are so sensitive and shy? How in the world were you so passionate about helping people when they have let you down so badly? How come you will not find one single journalist paying you some respect of how you managed to handle your life without questioning your mental health?...Whatever Mike said, you can tell he was trying to do his best to understand how the world treated him...whether his assumptions were correct or not does not matter. He was just trying to explain things to him...things that I, even as an onlooker who does not have to DEAL with, cannot explain...

I am not sure if I make sense but whatever....
