ABBA---I'm not a huge fan of them, but they deserve to be inducted.Their popularity is tremendous. If they were to reunite for a tour right now,it would be the biggest, most successful reunion tour ever.
The Chantels
Darlene Love
Donna Summer---the "Queen of Disco" influenced most of the dance music divas that came after her.She took dance music to a whole new level.
Genesis
The Hollies
Jimmy Cliff
KISS
Laura Nyro
LL Cool J
Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Stooges

Nothing would please me more than to see ABBA get snubbed! One of the things the USA got right was ignoring fucking ABBA compared to their fame in Europe and Australia. Try being in the UK - they're treated on par with The Beatles over here like some holy Gods of everything and completely beyond any criticism, because hell if you try to say you *gasp* don't fall at the feet and bow down to Benny & Bjorn, you're treated like a leper. Vile vile vile.

Did you not just see the Hyde Park tribute gig they did 2 weeks ago with Benny and Bjorn? The fact that Mamma Fucking Mia is the all time highest grossing film in the UK and has just overtaken Titanic? Titanic was average but Mamma Mia is perhaps the WORST FILM I HAVE EVER SEEN... and Ive seen Graffiti Bridge.

Here's a few reasons why Donna deserves to be inducted...

She was the "queen" of an entire genre of music: disco. She was arguably the top female artist of the late 70s.She was to the 70s what Madonna was to the 80s.In fact,Madonna herself was heavily influenced by Donna. One of Donna's songs,"Last Dance",even won an Oscar. Her success was such that she was allowed to record four 2-record sets, back to back! Three of those albums went straight to Number One: 'Live And More' (1978),'Bad Girls' (1979) and 'On The Radio' (1979).

Her influential 1977 hit "I Feel Love" basically started the whole electronica/techno movement."Hot Stuff" was one of the best examples of rock mixed with disco. Her 'Bad Girls' album influenced much of what we heard in the 80s."Love To Love You Baby" is another groundbreaking song that paved the way for much of what we heard later from Madonna,Janet,Beyonce and others. She recorded the only listenable version of "MacArthur Park".In 1980,she actually won a Grammy for best rock performance for "Hot Stuff".It is unusual for a black woman to even be nominated in this category, much less winning it! She has collaborated with Quincy Jones,Bruce Springsteen,Barbra Streisand and has even written a #1 country music hit for Dolly Parton ("Starting Over Again").As recently as last year, she had two singles reach number One on the Billboard Dance Music charts and she is still playing soldout concerts around the world.

KISS was a band that you either loved or hated. They influenced a lot of rock bands (good and bad) through out the 80's and 90's. They've also sold the most gold and platinum records behind the Beatles.

Despite what I think of them today, they were huge back then. I was amazed to see them even get a nod from the RRHOF. But at the same time, it doesn't mean that they'll even get in there.

It would be funny to see them do like Sabbath and The Pistols and say "no thanks". Gene and Paul told me a few years ago that "it didn't matter" but I'm sure deep down they want in.

Their die-hard fans (The KISS Army) have been waiting for this moment for the last 10+ years. And damn it, I side with then is saying the Paul, Gene, Ace, Peter & (to an extent) Eric deserves to be in the HOF.

And beside, it's totally disrespectful that Talking Heads, Prince & Madonna got in the HOF before KISS did (Yes, I will piss-off a lot of orgers from PM&M. Oh well!). disbelief lol

Mamma Mia is a lot like Purple Rain in ONE regard.....the real stars of the films were THE songs themselves.

Yeah, but they're not the all time superstars with a Greatest Hits spending 15 years on the chart constantly, are they? It's like the USA have The Eagles and we have ABBA.

wow, what a horrible list. not that any of them are undeserving (at some point) or bad at all.

but this is the best that they could come up with? i guess maybe they got all the big, obvious ones in in the last 5 years or so? confuse

on the other hand, at least they aren't pandering for the TV aspect of it, because i can't imagine who would tune in to make sure they caught anyone on this list lol
