Did they edit the shit out of every song? Is it going to piss me off like listening to Irresistable Bitch and Erotic City from the B-Sides disk of "The Hits/B-sides"? they don't edit any of the songs on disc one... but in order to fit 20 songs on disc 2, some of the songs are presented in the form of the single edits... that said, it doesn't really mar the set and the edits are barely noticable... only the hardcore fan would even realize it... the following songs are presented in the form of single edits: - miss you - beast of burden - fool to cry - mixed emotions - anybody seen my baby? - undercover of the night - emotional rescue - it's only rock & roll but, if you are looking for a set that is an introduction to the stones or the one release that sums it up, you should still get this set... very nicely done... miss you beast of burden Ah, fuck a duck, these are two of my favorite songs. And yes I will notice they are edited. go out and buy "some girls" then... it's a kick-ass album and has been remastered... has "miss you," "beast of burden" plus a ton of other great songs on it... I don't have Some Girls, bought Rewind instead (another comp, I was just starting, still am LOL). Are the versions I have on Rewind edited too? :O BTW, somebody explain to me the appeal of Brown Sugar?? That song irritates me, I don't know why folks think it's so great... i don't have that one, but i'm almost positive that they are... gimme the song lengths and i'll let ya know... BTW, somebody explain to me the appeal of Brown Sugar?? That song irritates me, I don't know why folks think it's so great... Maybe it's the subject matter: double entendre of oral sex with a black woman/shooting heroin that bugs you? Anyhoo, this is one of my favorites. I don't remember a heroin reference, but I do remember references to raping Black slave women - still trying to figure out what the fuck is appealing about that... BROWN SUGAR Gold coast slave ship bound for cotton fields Sold in a market down in New Orleans Scarred old slaver knows he's doing alright Hear him whip the women, just around midnight Ah, brown sugar how come you taste so good? Ah, brown sugar just like a young girl should Drums beating cold English blood runs hot Lady of the house wonderin' where it's gonna stop House boy knows that he's doing alright You should a heard him just around midnight Ah, brown sugar how come you taste so good? Ah, brown sugar just like a young girl should Ah, brown sugar how come you taste so good? Ah, brown sugar just like a black girl should I bet your mama was a tent show queen And all her girlfriends were sweet sixteen I'm no school boy but I know what I like You should have heard me just around midnight Ah, brown sugar how come you taste so good? Ah, brown sugar just like a young girl should I said yeah, yeah, yeah, whew How come you... how come you taste so good? I said yeah, yeah, yeah, whew Just like a black girl should

She Was Hot and Waiting On a Friend are two glaring omissions. She Was Hot is in my top 10 stones songs, one song i never get sick of hearing and a somewhat neglected classic.

I can't stand it... i get into the groove of it... it could be an instrumental for all i care... especially the harmonica solo... love that... although, if it were an instrumental i would miss the part about "gimme half of your money, gimme half of your clothes" and "some girls give me children - i only made love to her once"... that shit cracks me up...
