On my vinyl dig yesterday, I've never been so embarassed in my life.... Yesterday, I went on a little semi-vinyl dig. Meaning, I didn't go to a record store that sells only used vinyl, but I went to the regular record store which sells new CDs but also recently has had a small used vinyl section. Anyway, everything I purchased, I loved, such as these two vinyl albums....
This CD.... And this DVD.... Everything was going well. I really didn't expect the record store to have the Sylvester and The Hot Band CD so I was very pleased that I didn't have to order it online. And I was very pleased to have found that Stone City Band album I had been looking for all these years. I got to the counter all happy and the cashier rang me up. Then, when he put my merchandise in the bag, I looked at it and could not believe my eyes. It was a gold and black platic bag with huge letters on it that stated "WHITNEY HOUSTON". It was a bag advertising her new album that was released on August 31. I started looking around the counter for a black magic marker to draw an "S" over the "W" but there wasn't one in sight. Hell, as I walked through the shopping center to my car holding that damn bag advertising Shitney Houston, I hoped like hell that I didn't run into someone I know. . . . [Edited 9/19/09 10:27am] You've got it backwards, her product wasn't in the bag. My purchases were in a bag that was advertising her name in big letters for all the world to see as I walked to my car. Believe me, if I had gotten home and found a Shitney Houston CD in my bag instead of what I purchased, I would have driven my ass right back up to the store. But you can't do nothing about the bag itself. Andy is a four letter word.

I saw the pics BEFORE reading anything and thought " Man, It IS embarassing, but not that much"
Then I read about the Whitney bag

I placed the needle over each of the tracks on the two vinyl albums last night. Looks like I'm going to like every track on both albums from what I heard of them last night. Tonight, I'll probably listen to them in their entirety as I record them onto CD and put the tracks into my computer. Last night, I took the Sylvester CD and ripped the tracks into my computer which usually takes a while because I always read through the CD booklet, find the name of the album each track came from, along with the year the album was released, and then type those different fields into the computer with each track as well as the genre for each track such as "funk", "slow jam", "pop/rock", "house", etc. I love to listen to the computer in the shuffle mode sometimes by genre or sometimes by year. It's like having a live-in DJ because you never know what track will be played next. Andy is a four letter word.

Was it possible to turn the bag inside out? That's what I would have done. Next time you go there, bring your own bag.
I have to get that Sylvester disc. I saw it in one store here, but it was crazy expensive. I'm not sure if that was because it was an import or what.

I would have turned it inside out. Oh, and I'll orgnote U my address so U can send me the "Stone City" record. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I listened to the entire album last night. It's great all the way through. My favorite is the last track side one. I think it's called "Slow Down". "Walk The Streets" was pretty good too. Unfortunately, I noticed the edge of the record is warped which makes the needle go over a hump on the first track on each side of the record. Side one did pretty good, but on "Walk The Streets" on side two, that hump makes the needle jump from the beginning of the song, on into the record a little bit. Thankfully, it didn't jump into the singing part yet so when I recorded it, I just faded the intro in rather than recording the skip. Apparently, the record must have been jinxed from being inside of that horrible bag. Andy is a four letter word.

The Sylvester CD was the same price of a new release which is usually around $16 or $17. I don't think it was an import. I'm not sure though. I have bought Sylvester imports though for as much as $25. . . . [Edited 9/20/09 9:27am] Andy is a four letter word.

"Walk The Streets" was the second single from that album (after "Don't Go").It's a funky,Minneapolis-sounding jam,the type of song that Ready For The World would have done.Received some airplay on our local R&B station in early 1984.
