Oprah's Horrid MJ Tribute Show

Anyone else watch this? Is this worthy of it's own thread? Apologies if its not but:

Damn that show was horrid. It wasn't a tribute to MJ it was a tribute to Oprah as an interviewer. She talked about everything dealing with the interview but MJ himself.

Did anyone else notice how hard Oprah was working to not talk about MJ?

Yea I watched it. This woman is one of the biggest phonys if there ever was one I swear. How can people not see through her bullshit? It's unbelievable.

Anyway, yea, Oprah's 2 cents doesn't matter to me at all. She doesn't give a shit nor knows shit about Michael, Whitney, or anyone else. Where was she when they needed her the most? She's a media personality, it's all about ratings.

Ratings, ratings, ratings.

Yes, she mostly talked about herself and critiqued everything like DVD commentary.

First she had a show about Shitney, then she turns right around and has a show about Michael. Boy, she's really after the ratings isn't she? What's the topic of tomorrow's show...."Oprah's Observations When She Interviewed Prince"? I guess she's learning that people are getting bored with topics like "My Husband Leaves The Toilet Seat Up". lol

Oprah's next topic should be
"Why is my friend Tyra trying to take my torch away from me BEFORE I'm really?".

Cause it's Oprah. You can go her show talking about how your where raped and your children murdered and she'd just talk about herself. If Kanye West ever goes on her show the world with explode from their ego's clashing.

i noticed that about her a long time ago. way, way, way back - must have been late 90s b/c i haven't seen her show since then - i remember getting annoyed with her b/c she would not let her guest speak! i think someone posted a paul mooney clip where he takes on oprah's all-consuming narcisism.

I saw the last half of it streaming online. For all the playing down of MJ she did before, she didn't half place a lot of importance on one single interview. It wasn't an MJ tribute. It was Oprah reflecting on how she felt about HER big interview 16 years ago.

With all these tribute shows, I guess Jerry Springer will have one next starring Debbie Rowe and Joe Jackson. The two of them would come out on the stage physically fighting while some asshole rings a boxing bell and a crowd full of rowdy drunk college students chant...."fight, fight, fight".

Afterwards, the audience could ask them questions that begin with their typical personal insult first, and then Joe would stand up and take off his belt and Debbie would flash her titties. lol

Weak. Yeah, and she should've probably "pitched" it that way, maybe. She really didn't have anything to say or show.

If Oprah is considered to be egocentric during her MJ special, why has Tyra Banks been mentioned? lol Oprah's dialogue is quite cool compared to what Tyra would be talking about if she has a tribute show. At least Oprah appeared realistic. If it were Tyra, we'd be hearing a long, self-centered story about her [non-existent] close (and most likely flirtatious) relationship with Michael during the filming of "Black or White," lol.

The only reason why she did that show, was because "her people", thought it would be a nice gesture, after she made comments about why she wasn't going to. She said that she does not support people who are accused of child molesters and would not be doing a show on Michael. When I heard this, I was like, WTF? You do an interview with this man years ago when he was on the top of his game,(mind you, during the interview, she was sweating like a fat girl reading her first love letter). Now that he is gone, you're not gonna acknowledge his passing, until people suggest it to you?

Yea I watched it. I was a bit disappointed. After all the times youtube had deleted the orginal airing of the full interview w/ Michael,I was wondering about Oprah, cuz fans would upload it many times and in a minute it would be removed. Then I read on TV Ones website something bout she was agaisnt Michael, so I thought when I heard of her 'tribute' show she was gonna set the record straight, but she kept saying over and over "this was before any sexual abuse alugations." Did ya'll notice that? I don't know what's up with Oprah.

That show was an utter waste of time.

Do any of you remember when the 2nd round of Child Molestation charges were dropped from MJ's record, Oprah did a 2 part show on how she was "disgusted" and was defending the child?

Now, after he dies, she is praising how innocent and sweet he really was.

I love O, but this show was tacky.

I think it was more of a PR move than anything. She didn't acknowledge MJ after the molestation charges kept popping up no more than to disrespect him. I love O, but she should have kept that show in the vaults of Harpo.

I kinda enjoyed it. I hadn't watched the 1993 interview in its entirety in some time.

I had to convince my mom to watch because she hates Oprah's guts lol

In a nutshell, she was such a bore I had to turn the station! I am shocked she did anything about Michael because she said he hurt children, even though there was no evidence. Oprah is desperate for ratings, her next move might be getting Chris Brown on her show.
