Why is winning a VMA award such a significant "moment?" Sure, Swift was embarrassed onstage, but people are putting emphasis on this whole "oh, Kanye stole her big moment" jazz. This show, and the network, are not important anymore. It's just the annual scandal event that garners attention for the wrong reasons. bored

Andrew Dice Clay got a lifetime ban for cussing on one their award shows. I guess the difference is that what Kanye did has no financial or legal repercussions for MTV. Only got a lot of people talking about it.

falloff That was either before or after Kid had whooped some dude's ass at a Waffle House. To all those who are saying that P!nk wouldn't have done anything, I suggest ya'll watch her E! True Hollywood Story because that girl don't put up with nobody's shit. If she wouldn't have laid his ass out right there, she would have done it after the show with help from her (ex?) husband. I wouldn't mess with her that's for damn sure, but I would totally have knocked Kanye's ass out and I'm Prince's height. I ain't afraid of that nucca that's for damn sure...please step to me Kanye; I want you to because slapping the dog shit out of Kanye West is one of the things on my bucket list. I seriously have wanted to smack the taste out of his mouth ever since he pulled the same stunt on the European VMAs a few years ago. Taylor should have at least tripped his dumb ass because someone needs to really hurt his feelings so he'll get that being an asshole is not a commendable quality or an actual talent. hmph!

LOL @ You people thinking it was unplanned.
Mtv could have easily
1. Not let anyone not accepting an award on the stage
2. Turned the mic down

This was a win/win for everybody.
EVERY year, there is some sort of stunt at the Mtv awards (movies or music)
Its what they do for ratings. They are attention whores themselves.
Mtv gets ratings
Kanye gets to do what he always does - something outrageous that gets people to talk about him
Taylor gets the sympathy of the public
Beyoncé gets to look like a "class act" which might translate into people tolerating seeing her for just a little bit longer.
Why did Taylor come from backstage when Beyoncé asked her to come out? Why not from the audience if it was impromptu? hmmm
This is clearly staged to a degree. Taylor may not have been in on it but I smell Rocafella all over this stunt. (Kanye/Bey/Jay)

I think the bringing her back out was staged (matching outfits and Taylor all "omg can i do this again rofl") but I don't think the initial incident was staged. Kanye does this sort of thing all the damn time.

Taylor said that she was asked to wait backstage. That's why she wasn't seated.
It strange to see younger people so jaded to see it as a publicity stunt.

It's just a person behaving badly like a lot of his peers.I don't mean in the music industry, I mean his age group. They are just as uncivil and rude. They just aren't in front of a tv camera doing the same thing.
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.
