And Latoya too while we're at it.

As much as I agree with you, she won't be inducted. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

She will. I don't think she has much cache among the bigwigs who decide these things. I'd love for her to get in, but I just don't see it happening. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

As much as I enjoy much of Janet's music, I don't think she is hall of fame material.
She doesn't strike me as particularly creative or original, and let's face it - with out Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis she'd probably have gone the route of LaToya and Rebbie by now. On top of that, she has a weak voice. And frankly it's been a very long time since she put out a decent record, and one could argue that she only has 4 really solid albums in her career. If not for her famous siblings, she never would have had a chance to be a professional singer. Not that this fact alone would disqualify her, but the fact is that she didn't have the vocal chops to make it otherwise. Just my humble opinion * * *

I could never get into her. I like That's the Way Love Goes and a couple of her music videos though. [Edited 9/10/09 16:54pm]

Hmmmm....I don't know about the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame anytime soon. Sure, she has had much cultural impact with music videos, high-grossing tours, choreography, activism, and early albums from Control to The Velvet Rope, but I just can't put the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame next to her name right now. Until folks like Boz Scaggs, Donna Summer, Doobie Brothers, Hall & Oates get this honor, I won't be interested too me. But if she does, I'll be glad. Yes!! Janet deserves to be in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame! Her influence on Pop and R&B music alone - speaks volumes! My guess is that they're waiting for her Control album to mark the 25th anniversary since she never acknowledges her debut and sophomore album.
Crossing my fingers for next year! And anyone that says otherwise

I hope that the folks at A&M decide to remaster 'Rhythm Nation 1814' sometime this year or early January next year. 'Thriller 25' wasn't released until February of 2008 if I'm not mistaken and the original album was released in '82, so i guess Epic were waiting for the Grammy Hall of Fame hype for it, so it could be a trailblazing success (and it was, in some respects!) Janet should enter the hall of fame at the 25th anniversary of Control not before. she has 2 more years to go. You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

And Janet's the one that put Jam & Lewis on the map so why are you trying to act like they were making strings of hits before her?
