Its bizarre to see that people here keep defending that plastic, empty R&B shit like Janet Jackson, Beyonce and something called 'Debarge' when there is so much great music to discover and appreciate.

I dont consider myself 'superior' in terms of taste, but when people try to promote the likes of Debarge and Janet Jackson as great artists I can't take them seriously.

I love a great dinner at a fine restaurant, and I also like Taco Bell. Each can be enjoyable for what it is. Same with music.

I love lots of critically acclaimed artists and albums, and I also have a wide variety of really cheesy 80's pop that I adore just as much and feel no shame in that whatsoever.

I have managed to go all these years without ever hearing this album, despite all its acclaim. I've only heard his Hallelujah cover, and I found it a bit overwrought. I really dislike overstated, bombastic vocals, and I thought it seemed like he oversang that song, at least for my tastes. That put me off looking any further into it. Does he sing in that style throughout the record?
