I'll be getting it! Saw them live a year ago and was blown away. Darryl Hall can pretty much still tear those songs up! A little high register gone, but not much.

I haven't got around to listening to the Abandoned Lunchonette album, but I'll probably pick it up too because I love She's Gone and Las Vegas Turnaround.

Glancing at the tracklist,I just noticed that this box set doesn't include anything from their 1997 album 'Marigold Sky' (a superb album!).

Yeah I loved that song, Promise Ain't Enough from that particular album. It was on their 2004 anthology, Ultimate Hall & Oates.

That's a nice song.I also like the songs "Romeo Is Bleeding","Throw The Roses Away" and "Time Won't Pass Me By".It's one of their most consistent albums.

They put alot of care and effort into this thing.I'm especially looking forward to the track-by-track commentary by Daryl and John.I love seeing artists comment on their own songs, providing insight.

Yeah it always blows my mind when box sets, arent done with care, which does happen more than it should. I mean, FANS for the most part who buy everything of an artist are going to get the "box sets", so u have to go with rarities first and foremost, even besides hits, hits actually should be way down on the list of things included on any set. things like "Demos, live, alternate, rehearsels, early versions,etc.." all this comes first.

True, very true. Its one of the best box sets i have seen in a long time, especially one that im buying. Next year there is going to be a Rick Springfield box set, and the thing that makes this amazing is that he is gaining back rights to his 70's output and with the group Zoot in Australia, and all will be included, before obvious hits.

Not for me. Live tracks mean nothing...I want studio outtakes.

Those are their most successful albums, yes.I consider 'H2O' to be their strongest album. If you wanna dig a little deeper,I suggest you pick up these albums too:

'Abandoned Luncheonette' (1973)
'Daryl Hall and John Oates' (1975)
'Bigger Than The Both Of Us' (1976)

'Voices',released in 1980,was another big album for them.It was considered a comeback after a few albums that didn't do very well. It's the album that kicked off their amazing 80s run.

I suggest anyone planning on getting this box set, to order it through Amazon or Cd Universe, Best Buy isnt gonna carry it at most stores and its very very limited on their site if you get lucky.
