The HardLine According to Terence Trent D'arby My best friend's mom bought this album for me as a x-mas present I loved it and played it all the time-I think someone stole it from my house But I still love it to this day from If You Let Me Stay to his remake of Who's Lovin You-just great songs The only thing that bothers me is that after this cd I kinda stop listening to TTD/Sananda and I hear he is great now Can you give me some background on him and what he has been up to after his Hardline?

since when? Since 8 years ago. And it's not Santana. It's Sananda Maitreya. The artist adopted the name Sananda Maitreya, following a series of dreams and he legally changed his name to Sananda Maitreya on October 4, 2001. He proclaimed in an interview that "Terence Trent D'Arby was dead...he watched his suffering as he died a noble death", in what was perceived as an attempt to reinvent himself artistically and free himself from what he believed to be the oppressive nature of the record business.

yeah.....sometimes i make jokes and nobody gets them
no drugs involved i downloaded one of his Vampires releases and it bored me to tears but at one point i really thought this guy was going to be amazing but the Warner Theater gig in DC was the only concert I ever walked out on that is where it ended for me with the artist formerly known as TTD i do not feel like i am missing anything either

He was great, I would highly rate all his albums up to and including the Wildcard. The Angels and Vampires Vol 1 was ok but due to the ridiculously high prices for the downloads I haven't bothered with Volume 2 or Nigor Mortis.

what was the "warner theatre gig" you walked out on ??? just curious what year that was ???
I saw him in NYC in 2003 (i think) and it was definately my fav concert in my post concert years (not Prince related) ... Probably in my top 3 of all time ... he has an incredible range - great song catalog . Sadly , i havent gotten into his post 2003 songs - i did download some but they seem "unfinished" to me ... BUT - if you havnt heard "vibrator", "symphany or damn " and or "wildcard" i would highly recommend them - i wore them out .... Colonel Angus may be smelly. colonel angus may be a little rough . but deep down ... Colonel angus is very sweet.

Run - don't walk - and go get Symphony or Damn and Vibrator. Those are my favorite TTD albums. Here are some tracks from the former: Do You Love Me Like You Say? AlexDeParis, get outta my head!
I was literally about to post that my favorite two TTD albums are "Symphony Or Damn" and "Vibrator". "Vibrator" and the videos of the tour he did for it are what made me a TTD fan. |

Great album. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

I love Delicate. Des Ree´s got such a beautiful voice. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."
