If Janet were real serious about a big comeback, she should do this NOW.

Like Madge is, Jan should release an updated, much more comprehensive double disc expansion on Design of a Decade and re-name it. Release by Christmas! This would probably have to come out on Virgin, though the only two songs they'd need to buy for the disc, that aren't under the EMI/A&M/Virgin umbrella that are essential for this record would be "Feedback" and "Scream."

Disc 1
1Feedback
2Rhythm Nation
3The Knowledge
4Black Cat
5If
6You Want This
7All For You
8When I Think of You
9Lets Wait Awhile
10Again
11Together Again (Go Deeper)
12Anytime, Anyplace
13I Get Lonely
14Miss You Much
15Alright
16Runaway
17Enjoy

Disc 2
1 What Have you Done For me Lately
2 The Pleasure Principle
3 Control
4 Escapade
5 Love will Never Do Without You
6 Come Back To Me
7 Thats the Way Love Goes
8 Got til It's Gone
9 So of A Gun
10 Scream
11 Someone to Call My Lover
12 Doesn't Really Matter
13 Call on Me
14 NEW SONG
15 NEW SONG
16 All Nite/Don't Stop
17 Together Again (album version - dedicated to MJ of course).

F*ck it. The lead single should be vocally styled all out tribute to Michael.

Then the ACCOMPANYING LIVE TV SHOW COMPONENT -THis would be Janet's one chance to get on another primetims Tv concert special that is in celebration of her long overdue updated his set dedicated entirely to MJ. Reminding the folks who didnt get to see the RWY tour and the rest of the public what an awesome entertainer she is! She shouldn't cover Mike's songs; rather she should just throw in some famous dance routine bits, maybe mash up The Knowledge with Bad - just little things here and there.

Thoughts?

Knowing her she'll do NOTHING now. or for awhile. just go back into her seclusion of KFC, secret lovers, lesbian flings, and then in mid-2011 when she's turning 45, she'll be wrapped up in size XXL Flannel pajames doing walking lunges down the beach.

You mean a US comeback. The rest of the word gave up on her over 10 years ago.

Worldwide, she's not even in the same league as Madge, or even Pink.

I would like if she did that, but it's really up to Virgin. Perhaps the biggest insult to her musical career is the fact that Virgin, yet has released Paula Abdul's hits twice at this point (with nearly the same tracklisting and cover photos). While Janet's could easily sell better (even though I wouldn't be surprised if the numbers for Paula's weren't surprisingly high, even without promotion but just because of AI and all), it might not be the catalog smash they were banking on when they first signed her....or even up to the point of "All For You".

What Janet could easily do is release a DVD for "Rock With U", which could almost be billed as a greatest hits tour!

Maybe if Janet went on national TV and cried her eyes out to gain America's sympathy she would be good *cough* Britney *cough*

After SB she should've focused on the WW markets rather than America since they already snubbed her but enough with the "if's" and "buts" lol

I do think that maybe trying to make a real effort to concentrate on the non-US market after SuperBoob (that's what I'm calling it) would have been logical. She definately did promo there, though. Frankly the problem with all of the albums was that there was a big push at the start with little to no follow up. Hell, at the start of "Discipline", things were looking up. "Rock With U" came out but was not really recognized as a single (they might have had "Can't B Good" or some other ballad out there on R&B stations) but than nothing! I think she did one of two signings and then disappeared until the tour. It would have been smart to do a lot of press up until the tour!

Out of all the Jacksons she is the one least likely to try to capitalize on Michael's death (well Katherine and Rebbie too), and I think she will be taking some time for herself and her family to mourn and not to think about how to profit from his loss.

and I can see her and Michael sitting around snacking on some KFC lol I wish she had been able to reach him with her planned intervention and save him from himself.

Her recent 'Rock Witchu' Tour was supposed to be her big "comeback" and we all know how that turned out.Unless she becomes inspired and enthusiastic about her career again,I doubt that she'll be able to make any type of comeback.

Thats what it is. Thats why I am glad she is into acting again with Tyler Perry. I think that she has been wanting to do that for a while but did not have a good pinpoint or a good director to give her a meaningful role until Tyler came popular in 02 /03. I look forward to her being in his films.

As far as music she was definitley riding in the wind, not being diffrent than the other female r&b singers. Maybe this time she will spring back in2 action. No more Island Def Jam non-single dropping urban drama and madness.

You know, I have thought about this also. Honestly, I don't think Janet should release anything right now.

With the Grammy Awards coming up in a few months, I would love to see Janet do the opening performance at this year's awards. I would love to see her do something that would be a tribute to MJ and maybe she could incorporate her brothers in the performance in some way.

My first thought would be to have Janet appear on stage and hold the pose while the audience cheers (about 2 min) then she goes into a RN medley to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the album. Then when you think it's over, 5 spotlights come up and they all do a song together in tribute to MJ. That could easily be the most memorable Grammy performance ever.

That sounds about right. It's not a terrible song but it was very odd with Caryl Simon rapping. "Come On Get Up" was a much better choice. She needs no management is right. I hate to say it, but the break up with JD is only positive! She'll definately get some people that know what they are doing for her now. Didn't see she the pattern? The more invovlment with JD, the worse the outcome?
