Do you prefer male or female singers? I ask this question only because I keep reading all of the comments about Whitney's performance in NYC (here on the org and on other sites). I started wondering if people tend to prefer male or female singers.
Me, I have a hard time deciding, but if you go by my music collection, you'll find that I have more cds by male artists than female artists. So, I guess I would have to say male. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Interesting question.
Even a cursory glance at my music collection would tell me that male singers are far and away more prevalent there than female, so I guess I prefer male singers. Having said that, maybe it's just the case that the types of music I like very seldom feature female singers, so by default the better female singers in those genre are very few and far between. Male singers for me. By with a special mention for Blondie. Great band, great frontwoman. This is not an exit

I´d have to make a list of my favourite voices to see which I prefer. I always thought female, but I can think of some male voices I love - Mike, Boys II Men, Brian McKnight (even though all I have is just the duet he did with Mariah, which is beautiful). I don´t know. I think
a beatiful voice is a beautiful voice. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

I don't really have a preference, but the majority of my favorite singers & artists are male. How can I stand 2 stay where I am? / Poor butterfly who don't understand.

Male, specifically Black male, more specifically, alternative Black male singers. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

Could it be that the industry has more male singers than female? Or could it be that not many female singers get a break. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Female, I guess. But that doesn't mean I don't appreciate male vocalists.

Thats why its so hard to listen to him now that he's gone. but i have more female artist in my collection. I acutally do have more janet albums, well thats cause i bought more janet singles, then michael singles. But i prefer female vocalist.

definitely female singers. there are a lot of male singers i love, but generally i find most male vocalists boring and not very emotive.

Plus she can sing old skool songs when she wants to. Her cover of "I'd Rather Go Blind," for example, is great. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash.
