Lenny Kravitz Announces "Let Love Rule" U.S. Tour Dates

09/08/2009

Lenny Kravitz will continue to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his "Let Love Rule" album with a U.S. tour, the singer announced today.

Dubbed "LLR 20 (09)", the road trip kicks off Oct. 11 with a five-night stand at New York's Irving Plaza and concludes with Kravitz's headlining gig at the Voodoo Experience festival in New Orleans, La.

In May, Kravitz began marking the anniversary of his debut album with an extensive European tour, visiting 54 cities and 17 countries along the way.

The trek coincided with an expanded reissue of "Let Love Rule," including unreleased demos, B-sides and live recordings.

The album has sold 791,000 copies since its 1989 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

As reported last week, Kravitz will join previously announced headliners KISS, Eminem, Jane's Addiction and Widespread Panic at the Voodoo Experience festival.

Tour itinerary:

Oct. 11: New York, N.Y. (Fillmore at Irving Plaza)

How disappointing. I saw the original, thanks Lenny.

If he was reading I'd pose a few questions...

Is making new music that hard for you these days? That last album did blow so here you are releasing the first one with outtakes, what's next? touring with a new box set? or maybe we should wait for the outtakes from Baptism? barf

He released "Love Revolution" (which is pretty good) in 2008 and has been touring since then.

I know it's his first and it was pretty good and he was relatively popular for a while, but is Let Love Rule so seminal that it needs a deluxe re-packaging and tour around it?

I mean.... really.... who cares....

Is he performing the whole album? It's become a very popular thing now for artists to perform one of their older albums in its entirety. That gives fans a chance to hear some of the album tracks which have rarely if ever been performed live before.
If he's doing that, it would be cool.
But if he's just touring behind the idea of re-releasing an old album and just doing the hits from it, I don't see the point.

"Let Love Rule" is what defined me as a LK fan, which is pretty weird to some considering I'm only 19, so I shoulda became a fan after hearing his later hits like "American Woman", "Fly Away" & "Again".
But let love rule is what hit home for me.
Amazing album, and I'm glad he has released it.
Maybe younger kids will get to expirence it this go around.

Are you going to the DC show? We could go to the first NY show together on Sunday the 11th since you'll be here anyway that weekend. And if you don't have to be anywhere early on Monday in Baltimore.

I hope he expands this tour a little, I haven't been able to see him in like 12 years. sad

I don't care what he plays, I think he's brilliant as hell.
