So I went to go and see Tori Amos last night... ... had a great time.
It was my fifth Tori show (I've been following her British live shows since her Original Sin tour in 2005) and unfortunately I didn't get to meet her this time as there was no meet and greet. The show itself was pretty cool. She didn't do many tracks from the new album, which is unusual for Tori. Maybe she isn't feeling the new records the same... Although I have to say when she did Strong Black Vine it was probably one of the best performances of the night. She'd added a whole extra part at the end of the song where she was half singing, half rapping. It sounds crazy, but it was really passionate and intense. She also did Lady In Blue - which is a personal favourite of mine from the new album, although I did notice when she started this, loads of people went to go and get drinks from the bar... idiots don't know what they're missing! She ended with Big Wheel, which was hilarious. The middle part where she says "Give me 8..." - the audience kept getting it wrong and she went into this whole big improv about learning how to count. This went on for a few minutes and was really funny. All in all she was in great form AND I got to see Raspberry Swirl, which is one of those songs that has always been on my dream fantasy setlist... Sounds like a fun night, she's one of the most consistently entertaining live performers I've ever seen.

i saw her at radio city in nyc and again the next night in red bank, nj. the red bank show was possibly the best show i've seen since 1992 and definitely since 1996. 5th row center for the red bank show and the most amazing performance of taxi ride ever. its not at all a favorite song of mine but it was the best song of the night. (you can check it out on youtube if you look up "tori amos red bank taxi ride".)
this tour's version of precious things...man, its like she NEVER performed the song live before. amazing! strong black vine is def this tour's code red but far more intense. god, i love her.

I thought exactly that. But Strong Black Vine is far, far superior. badujunkie said: did it seem sold out?
Pretty much. She always does two shows at Londons Hammersmith Appollo (capacity of around 3,000) and they're always sold out.
