The Budweiser Superfest wouldnt really be considered since it's a festival with several acts and artists

ANd Janet may have played The SUperdome on The RYthm Nation tour but it was't layed out as a stadium. The SUperdome like several stadiums such as The ALamadome and The Skydome can be configured to where they act as arenas. Take a small part of thecapacity and use it as a 20,000 seat arena. Janet has said she'd like to play stadiums but couldn't Only in the most major of markets she could like playing Yankee Stadium one night instead of Madison Square Garden 2.

And if I do seem wrong remember the earliest I can remember is The 80s. The 70s and Parilment/Earth Wind And Fire tours are beyond my memory.

The Budweiser Superfest is not really a festival. It is just a tour that they sponsor with r&b acts. For instance, I remember them having a Superfest in the late 80s. The acts were Karyn White, Midnight Star, and Guy. This was no big outdoor festival or anything like that. Just a regular concert.

As for the stadiums, I totally agree with you. Many cities have stadiums that enclose to be indoor amphitheaters.

Even though it's indoors it could be considered a festival. I mean festival not by where it's held but by how many acts ar eon the ticket. To truely say you've done a stadium you have to headline with nomore than 3 opening acts that are alot smaller than you in popularity.

When I think of a "festival", I consider it to have a main stage with headlining acts. Then a small stage or 2 with lesser known acts. Usually, most festivals have booths and vendors selling things. The Budweiser Superfest didn't have any of this when I went to them.

OK....? Doesn't mean it's a "festival". It was just a traditional concert sponsored by Budweiser.

When did Prince do a full stadium show in the states? I wouldn't count Superbowl.

In the states, there are very few acts that have done a stadium tour. I can only think of U2, The Jacksons, George Strait, Garth Brooks and maybe a couple of others that have played stadium tours.

Most acts don't do stadium tours because of the cost. Arena shows tend to be more economical.

-----
Prince played quite a few stadiums doing the PR tour and he played the 90k seat
Superdome in 2004.

I don't think the popster means 30 or 40 years ago. They mean today.

i don't think it's cost but the number tickets needed to be sold to qualify as a sell out that rule out stadium tours for most acts.
