I don't miss her at all... I just feel a little bit nostalgic when I think of her, not because I miss her but simply because she's an artist of my generation, I was born the same year as her (1979)... She reminds me of my teenage years back in the good ol days... But I don't think she would have become a big artist like Beyonce or Alicia Keyes anyway... Maybe a famous actress, if I remember she died during the shooting of Matrix 2 [Edited 8/25/09 8:51am]

Call me crazy but her death REALLY bothered me....along with
John Belushi Left Eye JFK JR Princess Diana I don't know why but they were people that I enjoyed watching and thought were sooo creative. Aaliyah's death was hard because it was careless...ya know just a very bad decision.....she was about to blow the hell up...you just saw it coming. I remebered today cuz it's Mike's 2nd month. Damn man . [Edited 8/25/09 12:02pm] "A Man Can't Ride Your Back Unless It's Bent" MLK 4/3/68

I don't care about that, because I think she's better than both of them hands down. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

She could've taught the artists of today a thing or two about class, talent and originality.
I love that she worked with Timbaland before everyone and their dog did.

I liked Aaliyah's songs and her style but I haven't really understood why she now is viewed as such a magnificant angel and amazing artist. What made her so special? I'm seriously curious.
She must have been an amazing person and friend. . [Edited 8/26/09 3:54am]

Even when she was alive, she was known for her poise, grace, intelligence and beauty. Listen to her Ave Maria and it's so pure. And she always had that smile to light up a room.

WOW that was just beautiful and still a heart breaker. As far as the WHY question she is consider such a talent.....well for me it was watching the transformation into womanhood...you just saw it developing into something good which she, if chosen, could have totally went down hooch road. She was naturally beautiful and does have that angel like innocence about her. I imagine her and MJ dancing together having a blast! That thought always places a smile on my face like ...yeah guys do it up..... It just took I think everybody by surprise and the thought of it is just sickening. Yep, I've been thinking about her and knew it was either this week or next week for the anniversary of her death. I think she would have blown up. I mean she was already making movies and she was supposed to be in the Matrix films; that role instead went to Nona Gaye. I watched Romeo Must Die last night. Aaliyah and Jet Li. She was so pretty. Just think, an extra plane or a different pilot and she would still be with us today.

Beautiful. Ok, I never got the chance to really get to know anything other than the songs... But she sounds like my kind of woman and I have huge respect for people in the biz that can handle themselves like that. It's unfortunate that she couldn't live her dream longer.

I liked Aaliyah ever seince her second album (I seriously don't remember when her first record hit, probably cause I was 7 yrs old.)
I remember when she passed (a few days before 9/11) it was terrible. PRINCE: Always and Forever

I still miss Aaliyah. I often wonder what she would be doing know career-wise.
Miss You is a lovely tribute song unlike that thrown-together mess Diddy and 'nem came out with for MJ. Too bad he didn't get a song with half the quality. [Edited 8/27/09 9:07am] Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off
