Extended trailer for the Celebration DVD collection

Wow! First acknowledement of "Who's That Girl" in about 20 years?

Where is the pop video? I'm starting to think there isn't one and that we're only going to get the remix video on the DVD. Has ANYONE played that one anywhere? MTV shows some videos, but I haven't seen that on there (I'm thinking the pop video is for music outlets). It's not even available On Demand. So what gives? Already being terribly promoted. Oh well. I just want my copies for a reasonable price.

So we aren't going to get the one that people actually want to see and that video channels might play.....so much for a being a smart business woman. I think that title went away years ago!

"Make Me" blows the doors off of "Celebration".

the former is Janet's best single in a decade. the latter is one of Madonna's worst ever.

Paisley considers Hard Candy to be her best album, so I have realized that we have completely opposite views re: Madonna lol

hmmm This song is no masterpiece, but I think it's much better than "Celebration".It has a stronger chorus/hook,and could easily be a hit in America (if it's released a single with proper promotion).

madonna should hook up with the soulquarians next, lol

Who are the soulquarians? confuse

anyway, here's a longer preview of "Revolver".It cuts off just before Lil Wayne comes in with his rap...

I'm liking it beter than "4 Minutes" and quite a lot of "Hard Candy". If she didn't sound so damn bored (I agree with everyone who's said that) it would be a much better track. It might be a great song live, actually.

I think "Revolver" has hit potential (unlike the Eurotrashy "Celebration" single),but only if Warners promotes it aggressively.Something tells me that they won't.

A fan claims that he has a "Revolver"-less promo CD already hmmm Looks suspicious/fake to me.

Revolver has leaked. Its better than I thought itd be, but it sounds more like britney singing than madonna, her voice has been altered that much. The track is ok - quite catchy.....as I said very very Britney esque.

My love’s a revolver
My love’s a revolver

Oops, I guess I shot ya
My finger’s on the trigger
I had a bullet with your name on it
Click-click

I’m a sex pistol
My love should be illegal
Real deal, baby
I’m no counterfeit
Click-click

Line ‘em up
Knock ‘em down
If looks could kill
E-o-e-o
My body’s fully loaded
And I’ve got more ammo

Line ‘em up
Knock ‘em down
If looks could kill
E-o-e-o
You’re an accessory to murder, ‘coz

My love’s a revolver
My sex is a killer
Do you wanna die happy?
Do you wanna die happy?

My love’s a revolver
My sex is a killer
Do you wanna die happy?
Do you wanna die happy?
I let it bang bang

You’ve been hit by a smooth criminal
A bad girl I gotcha crying to your mama
Saying I can’t believe it

I’ve seen your type
Bring a knife into a gun fight
Caught up in the law right
I think I’m in love right

Line ‘em up
Knock ‘em down
If looks could kill
E-o-e-o
My body’s fully loaded

I shoot him bang bang
I shoot him bang bang
Mirror mirror on the wall
Who’s the baddest of them all?
I shoot him bang bang
I shoot him bang bang
I line ‘em up and watch them fall

(Lil Wayne:)
Bang, the shooter name is Wayne
The victim didn’t complain
She just screamed shoot again
I gave her extra rounds
My barrel twist around
I am Mr. Shoot ‘em down
I leave hearts on the ground
My love is a weapon
And yes I use it well
Then I let the rose petals
Cover up the bullet shell
I never shoot and tell
I only shoot to kill
And that vest ain’t gonna help ya
Even if it’s made of steel

My love’s a revolver
My sex is a killer
Do you wanna die happy?

The demo sounds better. What's up with the ultra thin voice on verse 1? Although it is a better song than Celebration, it doesn't feel like Madonna at all.

"Revolver" could easily be a Top 10 hit (like "4 Minutes").Madonna should film an excellent video for it.

should have beenthe first (or only) single in the US. wtf.

they went all Euro with Hard Candy by making Give It 2 Me and Miles Away the 2nd and 3rd single instead of the superior and potential his of Beat Goes On and now this, when it was clear that a contemporary r&b-ish club banger ("4 Minutes") is what is going to get her airplay.

wtf are they thinking.

except for Confessions and the first 2 from Music, the single choices this decade have been mind-boggling.

I agree.I don't know if we should blame Warners or Madonna but in many cases, the wrong singles are released."Beat Goes On" was the obvious choice for second single from Hard Candy.

"Revolver" should have been the first single from Celebration. With a kickass video and aggressive promotion by Warners, and it would be in the Top 10 right now.It has the one thing that "Celebration" lacks: a strong hook/chorus.It's extremely radio-friendly.

FIRST REVIEW:THE DAILY TELEGRAPH

Madonna: no nostalgia, just the latest trends

(Warner,2 CDs)

As Madonna delivered her tribute speech about Michael Jackson at the MTV Video Music Awards this week, she assumed the role of ambassador for her generation, reminding us that she was born in the same year as Jackson,1958.Yet she is still here, still touring, still making music, keeping up with the latest trends rather than trading on nostalgia.

As her extensive new greatest hits collection reminds us,there is talent there, too. There are 36 tracks on this double CD,only a couple of which feel dispensable. Both are among the newest-the current single "Celebration" is infinitely forgettable and "Revolver",featuring New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne, shows off his skills better than hers.On the other hand,"4 Minutes",a duet with Justin Timberlake from last year's album Hard Candy, stands up surprisingly well.It may be lyrically silly, but it's eminently catchy and that has always been Madonna's strength.I could live without "Take A Bow",but since it was her longest-running US number one,I suppose it deserves inclusion.

This compilation is heavily weighted to her glory days-everything on The Immaculate Collection of 1990 is also here except, weirdly,"Rescue Me".But the selections from the rest of her career reveals just how consistently she has delivered the goods, with tracks such as "Music","Ray Of Light","Frozen" and "Don't Tell Me".

The CD sleeve shows Madonna as a latter-day Marilyn Monroe. She hasn't yet attained such legendary status, but as the collection's title suggests, she deserves her moment of celebration.

****4 stars
