Jermaine Jackson "Lets Get Serious" I just bought this album and it's a lot better than I thought it would be. I've never liked Jermaine as a personality 'cause I think he's very shady, but he is very talented and I've always enjoyed his music. Never bought this album until recently though. I pretty much like all the songs on here. I just don't understand why Jermaine wasn't bigger. I know quite a few people who prefer him over MJ (I'm not one of them, Mike is my fave, but Jermaine is damn good) and any other Jackson actually. He can sing his ass off. He should have been bigger. Anyway, this is a good album, I really love "We Can Put It Back Together" and "Where Are You Now" . I really think Jermaine should think about releasing a new album in the future. He has the talent and with the right material and promotion, I don't see why he can't have some success again.
1. Let's Get Serious 2. Where Are You Now 3. You Got to Hurry Girl 4. We Can Put It Back Together 5. Burnin' Hot 6. You're Supposed to Keep Your 7. Feelin' Free "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ
"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always

I love the title track. The song was written by Stevie and he also sings the bridge. So funky.
Jermaine was doing okay for himself for a bit, he just didn't have much longevity. But he's got quite a few songs I enjoy, and of course some of his stuff on the J5 is great... he had a great voice to contrast young Michael.

Love the Title Track.
And Jermaine works the notes too, my all time fav jam by jermaine. The album overall is pretty cool too. Michael Jackson -- the KING of my heart

The title track is GREAT...probably his best single Stevie Wonder did a superb job on the production.Sometimes I think that Stevie should have kept that jam for himself! It woulda been the perfect opening song on his 'Hotter Than July' album.Jermaine should feel blessed that Stevie gave him that song.
From what I understand,"You're Supposed To Keep Your Love For Me" was first recorded by Michael Jackson in 1973 for a solo album that was produced by Stevie. That album was never released so years later,Stevie gave that song to Jermaine (bboy87,am I correct?).

80s R&B jam of the day: "Let's Get Serious" by Jermaine Jackson (1980)
ya know,I'm gonna have to pull this song out and jam to it this weekend! One of the hottest grooves of 1980!!

Great, great album - from start to finish, and yes, the title track and a few others are STEVIE gems, but JERMAINE also does his own thang on "BURNIN' HOT" and "FEELIN' FREE" - no help needed there, awesome cuts.
Of his 13 or so albums, there r 4 - IMHO - that r flawless... 1980 - "LET'S GET SERIOUS" 1980 - "JERMAINE" 1984 - "JERMAINE JACKSON" (aka "DYNAMITE") 1991 - "YOU SAID" I can listen to any of those, every track, no fillers. I have all the others, but I feel that they do have more than a few fillers on em.

Stevie pretty much helped with the whole album even with tracks he didn't write. It's a great overall album.

I LOVE the song. I just found out last year that the song is around 8 mins long cause I had always heard the single version. Hearing the whole thing made me love it even more. This thread makes me wanna find this CD, especially hearing that Stevie Wonder produced the whole thing or most of it. It's too bad Jermaine didn't last longer cause he should have. He was great, he really was. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

10/10!
The album is so funky yet underrated! IMO- he's a better singer than MJ especially on the J5 tunes I love the ace funk tracks especially that ass-shakin tune You Got To Hurry Girl it's nice example of Jermaine's vocal talent. Jermaine also displays his talent as a producer with Burnin Hot. His voice reminds me of Mr. Mayfield's!
