I hate Green Day..but they do know how to treat fans good.
I joined the Green Day fan club. One of my favorite bands - Kaiser Chiefs were opening for them and I wanted some good seats. The Green Day web site is full of info, media, constant updates, pictures. They periodically give out seats to members to different evens and shows. Ordering tickets was easy. Usually an email is sent once a week with updates. I really fucking don't like Green Day, hell I left after Kaisers played! But one thing that I will give them. They know how to treat fans cool.

I'm not a fan of either but.., Yep. Kaiser's Angry Mob cd is 10 times better than anything Green Day ever did imo.

You're right.
I'm no Green Day fan, but they know how to treat the people who sign their paycheques. Little Princey could stand to learn a thing or two from performers like them. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

I am a Green Day fan and yeah, they are pretty much the coolest people on earth. So it makes sense they would treat their fans well.
Last time they came to Japan, they played a small club. Tickets sold out in 2 minutes. They told all the fans that could not get tickets that they would be back. They are coming back in Jan. 2010 for four more shows at larger venues. Their last album American Idiot is a classic. And yeah, Prince could learn a thing or two from their website but then again, they have kids and are on a major label. So in some ways bands like Green Day are forced to embrace the internet, etc. http://www.greenday.com/s...mepage.php They also have reviews of each show posted directly on their website. Billie Joe is the greatest front-man of my generation. Now we can let this hate thread die. [Edited 8/23/09 18:08pm]

I am a Green Day fan also, in fact I am going to see them in Sacramento tomorrow night. I got my ticket thru the Idiot Club. They are a great live act.

I saw some of their earliest shows on tape a couple of years ago (Some of them on Youtube)
They used to perform in the quad/courtyard area at Pinole Valley High when they were students, which I attended a couple of years after they did "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I remember the first time I saw Green Day on MTV. I don't know if it was "120 Minutes" or what but I remembered going "these guys are gonna be big one day..."
