1990's VS. 2000's (Which decade had the LEAST amount of classic funk albums?!?) Does any know for sure which decade was the most unfunky ever?!?

Classic funk albums? Zero on both accounts, I have to say. That doesn't mean there haven't been some good ones, but I don't think any classics have emerged from either decade. I've found more funk to enjoy in the 00s, but that may be due to my own efforts to seek it out more than a substantive difference. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Both decades are absolutely horrible but the 2000s are worse. At least The Barkays, Cameo, and War made some funk in the 1990s. The problem though, was that the shit hop infested radio stations refused to play them.
As for all this 2000s funk out there that you have to "search for", it can just stay where it's hidden because I shouldn't have to search for anything and I'm not going to. And I've also heard some of it and it sounds too primitive for my taste. Andy is a four letter word.

People like Chromeo, Bastian, Basement Jaxx, even the Neptunes could not exsist in their true forms in the 90's with the sampled loops being the most popular way to make music. Even people like Amy Winehouse and Raphael Saddiq are making the sound the norm again. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

The title track and Raw But Tasty are the best songs on there, even with the elements of rock & new jack swing mixed here and there. 2. You right about some of the neo-funk being "too primitive". Not that I have any problem with listening to it, since it's inspired by The Meters' brand of funk. I'm only sorry that there is no synths involve is most of those neo-funk tracks.

Multi-musician Jara Harris performed bass on the the Emotional Violence-track. He also has his own funkband Slapbak and who started in the early 90's and still do their thang. They might not have released essential albums or their style might not be everyone's bag, but they keep contributing to keep funk alive. TonyVanDam said: 2. UK-group Bugz In The Attic got imo influenced by P-Funk chants in a track like "Booty LaLa"
