a-Ha lineup second UK single, add more live dates for UK tour,UPDATE:"SHADOWSIDE" to be 2nd single in all markets but UK September 21st has been set for the second single for the UK, from "Foot of the mountain" it will be ...quite a shock to all, as everyone thought it would be "Riding the Crest" the single will be "Nothing is Keep You Here" it will be a newly recorded version not on the album, more uptempo, more vocals added. A video will be shot in later August, the reason for the single change is that the label are so "pleased" with the response the album has gotten, and overall how good it is, that they are going for at least 4 singles if not 5. This will stretch things out since a-Ha will play tour dates in the fall of 2009 and then take on the world in 2010, so this is an ongoing project. "Riding the crest" could be a single in America as the tour launches.
a-ha also recently tore it up in Germany with a live concert that was streamed, once again breaking a viewers record for the internet, Simple Minds also played the show. Rumour has it that a-Ha will have a new DVD early next year documenting 25 years of music [Edited 8/13/09 17:05pm] [Edited 8/15/09 11:53am] "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Watching some current interviews with a-Ha on a great YOUTUBE channel, and heard the greatest quote about longevity "You have to keep changing in order to remain yourself" fucking great quote. They were speaking on how they have to keep adjusting and not rehashing one song over and over, its the only reason they have stayed around. Paul the guitar player also said, "We got more complex with the last few albums, so as to "Shake off" the fans that werent true and to see who held on" fucking great once again! "Nothing Is Keeping You Here" is a great choice. It's the best song on "side 2" to my ears. Anything on side 1 would also be great. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

It'll be interesting to see and hear what they will do with the recording for the single, they are lining up some bonus tracks for the cd singles. Im hoping they do what they did for the "Lifelines" cd singles and had 5 bonus tracks and demos on both singles. I have all of a-ha's albums, but I haven't really jumped into their b-sides and non-album tracks. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Im not really into "mixes" especially on bands like a-Ha, i would much rather a demo or alternate take or live track, than some paul oakenfold does a-Ha track. Believe it or not they had the cd remixes for "Celice" pulled because they were not happy with the final cuts, basically the label sent the song off to top name mixers and then put the single mixes out and a-ha was not pleased at all, as MAGS said hes tired of the "ibiza takes" that all mixes seem to take these days. a-Ha will be releasing a second single too other markets other than the UK, it will be "SHADOWSIDE" which will also have a newly recorded version different than the cd. This single as of yet doesnt have a release date but most likely will be around the same time as the UK' second single which is "nothing is keeping you here", videos will be shot for both and a-Ha will do the promo for the releases in September mostly in the uk as their tour dates start, they also have lined up dates in Poland and Russia along with Norway and Germany. A return to South America later this year or early next is being discussed.
