Bob Seger - "Night Moves"

The backup vocals make this one for me.

Oh, I really really like Bob Seger. I have his greatest hits. My favorite Bob song of all time, however, is "Tryin' To Live My Life Without You" (from one of his live albums). Love that song!!!

I had mononucleosis for a long long time when I was younger. I missed THREE months of school because of it. I did nothing but play Tetris, listen to Bob Seger, and watch "Fall Guy" reruns the entire time I was sick.

To this day, when I hear "Turn The Page" or "Hollywood Nights," I can't help but taste orange-flavored aspirin and Sport Shakes (which was all I could eat for about 9 weeks).

Sorry. My point is that I really like Bob. And his music fits perfectly within the framework of the movie "Mask."

Did you know that originally, it was to be Bruce Springsteen's music in the movie? Rocky Dennis was a big Springsteen fan, and Springsteen was set to let them use his music for the movie. However, his label balked and they used Seger instead. The most recent DVD of Mask put the original Springsteen music back in. It's one of my favorites and though that's the way it was intented, I'm still not sure I like it without the music I remember hearing in it all these years.

I knew Bruce's music was originally supposed to be in the movie - but I didn't know there was a version with his music!! I've never been a Springsteen fan, though I do think he's done some really nice songs for movies. But I think Bob's music sounds wonderul inside the film. I have a well-worn copy of the movie on VHS, but I think I will Netflix the DVD, just to hear it with Bruce's soundtrack. I will try to hold off judgment until I've watched it.
