whatever happened to Tabu Records? what acts were on the label and did they get bought out by a bigger record company? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries." | |

I remember The SOS Band, Alexander O'Neal and Cherelle being on the Tabu label.

I remember they split from CBS in the early 90s (around 92 or 93). They went on to be distributed by Polygram (which is now Universal). I don't think much music was released under the 90s deal with A & M/Polygram. All I can recall was Alexander O'Neal's "Love Makes No Sense" and an album by Cherrelle. They then issued a few Greatest Hits packages for Alex and Cherrelle.
In more recent years, they were distributed by EMI/CEMA as a catalog label (like they did with SOLAR), but there were only a few reissued cds that I remember. Brainstorm, Alexaner O'neal's first 3 albums (Self Titled, Hearsay and his Christmas album), Cherrelle's first 2 albums and the first 2 albums from the SOS Band. I haven't seen or heard from TABU records since around 02 or 03. I found this site that gives a little background: http://www.onamrecords.co...cords.html **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-
