it might cost her more not showing up contractually as well... of course she misses him harder than us strangers do, but they probably spoke to each other more than seeing one another.I think.. correct me if I am wrong when he was over seas in Bahrain 3 years passed... without her seeing her brother.Life gets in the way yet I am certain anyone who loses someone close there isn't a day that goes by when they aren't thought of.

Each persons coping mechanisms are different. If she stayed in her bathrobe.cry and eat don't bathe it would be a disservice to her mind and body.

I'm not saying she has to lock herself in her room and bawl her eyes out for a year.

But if your tortured run down brother, on the eve of his comeback no less, was accidentally and suddenly "killed" leaving his three children without a father - the absolute LAST thing I'd be thinking about is releasing another album.

We all went off at Joe for promoting his shitty label, but Janet gets a free pass?

if you think Janet finishing up FILMING a movie she was already shooting at the time and going into the studio to BEGIN recording an album right now that won't be out for probably another year are the same thing as what Joe has been doing on BET, Larry King, ABC, etc., you have absolutely NO grip on reality whatsoever.

everyone mourns in their own way and it's none of your business how they do it.

when my sister died I was supposed to have 3 days off work
I took 2 weeks and he 'bout had a fit
when my mother died I had to go back to school a week later

you think other folk care about your grief?...life goes on and folk gotta eat and pay bills. It's not like there's a time limit. You''re going to keep loving them and thinking about them every single day of YOUR life, but you have to keep on living.

i gotta disagree with this. She was working on a new album before he passed, i'm sure. And she's still grieving, but at the same time she's moving on.

Besides, Joe plugged his label in this same interview he was talking about his son.

I had a dream about Janet last night.

'Discipline' was not really about sex - apart from the title track which was so unnecessary.

Are you vulkan kidding me? Janet has never leeched off of MJ. If anything she has seperated herself from her family, career-wise, since Control. He came to her for the Scream duet.

He asked her to duet in the Rhythm Nation era and she declined.

I think it was mediatakeout that pointed it out.

While I hate to defend Perry, I think he does more harm than good to African American filmmaking, I have to point out that most films have this issue and it's not the filmmakers fault but usually the theater projectionist fault. The films are cut differently for theater release and dvd/home viewing release. Roger Ebert gets this type of complaint at least once a year and will write about it on his website.

With that being said, I actually watched Why Did I Get Married, and my first Perry film, yesterday and found it to be horrible. Although I did love Janet and Jill Scott in it...I was surprised at how easily Janet was able to disappear in to her role.

I agree with you completely. I never have understood how Tyler got to be so big in the African American film making business. To me, people like Spike Lee, John Singleton, the Hudlin Brothers, etc. were more about the art of film making. Tyler is all about the dollar. It's like Tyler's movies set us back 20 years. Watching a movie like Boomerang back with a Tyler flick is an embarrassment.

Another issue may be that Tyler does it all himself and he's not a trained film director/editor. If he would hire real professionals, maybe his movies would take on a different perspective.

I'm not sure why you think she's not still mourning, Just because someone has returned to work does not mean that they have stop mourning..I've worked in Corporate America for a long time and for a immediate family member (parent, sibling, or spouse) you get 5 days and for non immediate members (cousins, aunts and uncles) you get 3 days off work, you return to work but you don't stop mourning them sad

what is she supose to do, stop living? life goes on and she has to go on with it or get buried in it.she's gonna mourn her brother for a long time, but she gotta work and please dont compare janet moving on with her own life with joe capitolizing on the attention his son's death is getting for him.janet has made one public appearence since his death, she addressed the fans and peers at the bet awards, she kept it short and kept it moving, at the memorial she looked torn up and i read she stayed to herself at the repass.janet is probably the least attention seeking big star i ever seen, when she dont have a project you dont see her. she is not gonna do nothin to exploit mj's death, matter fact im willing to bet she avoid interviews because she know they gonna ask about him.
