Janet's new website launched today and is finally a comprehensive resource befitting a star of her stature. Easily her best website ever.

Janet has also embraced social networks and media including Twitter, YouTube and Facebook.

Janet announced that her new album will be released in the first quarter of 2010!

Suddenly Janet Jackson has become a fashion icon! Mediaite has learned that Harper’s Bazaar is shooting a cover of Janet Jackson, reportedly planned for the October issue. Keeping in mind that she hasn’t appeared on the cover of a fashion magazine in over three years, could this be a crafty way for the Hearst-owned fashion title to cash in on the spectacle of her brother’s death? Even if this planned cover does turn into increased newsstand sales — at what cost, victory?

Fashion magazine insiders are scratching their heads at the recent editorial decisions coming from Editor-in-Chief Glenda Bailey. Much was made over the Harper’s Bazaar July cover starring Angelina Jolie — everyone from journalists to fashionistas were left wondering when the last time the cover of a fashion magazine featured a paparazzi image — traditionally the source for the Gossip mag covers.

So now that word is out that Harper’s Bazaar is plannig a cover shoot of Janet Jackson — so close to her brother’s death — some skeptics might see this as an act of desperation to bolster the struggling sales? Or is this a brilliant way to reposition the magazine to be more pop culture friendly? Either way its another unique, bold and slightly odd decision in the world of Harper’s Bizaare.

It's amazing to me that Control and Rhythm Nation 1814 haven't been remastered. They're such seminal albums, and now that each is at least 20 years old, it's time.

Janet has been a fashion icon for years, so it's not surprising she's doign the HB cover. and she does have a movie and album coming out in the new year, so it's pretty logical to me. skeptics are skeptics and will always be, there is nothing u can do about it. i say it's time a respected mag had her on it's cover again. She cannot mourn her brother forever. besides, she turned down an offer to perform at the tribute show, which shows she's not about making a fast buck off of her brother's demise.
