Plus I simply cannot believe that Janet was the second most successful female recording artist in the USA in 2004. Mariah Carey (whom I don't like) was obviously more successful than her by that time and possibly others too.

And don't forget that Janet's international appeal is much less than of any other contemporary diva

Isn't Rhythm Nation 1814 still the only record with 7 top-5 singles? That's an extremely impressive record, especially considering it probably would've been 8 if they had released a physical single here for "State of the World" (it got to #5 in airplay).
