JANET NOT TO PERFORM AT 02 TRIBUTE AFTER ALL

Word was that she would join her brothers for a couple of shows at the O2 dates, but the latest is that she is busy with the filming of "Why Did I Get Married 2," and the possibility of getting custody of MJ's kids to consider performing. It would be awesome to see her do a Michael song, though. They sound so much alike.

So,is she really serious about getting custody of MJ's kids?

And what's this I hear about the brothers performing at the O2 arena? confuse When did they schedule a tour of their own?

I'm thinking she may be serious about it. She showed maternal instincts on stage at the memorial, and she's always wanted kids.

IMO Janet's time is over, unless Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis can perform a miracle to revive her dying career. and she does not sound like Michael.

the i think the public is warming up to Janet again thanks to the way she's acted after the death of her brother. i wouldn't count her out yet.

I agree with this ^^^. I think Ms. Jackson will do well especially with Terry and Jimmy at the wheel. I think Janet is going to come out hard with her next album because I think she's going to be HELLA motivated like never before. And if Janet stays single long enough through all the recording and rehearsals for any up coming shows, I think that combined with what I just mentioned, Janet is going to be sharp enough to cut glass. I think she's going to have an edge to her and that will benifit her.

Please they've been saying Janet is over for years but she is still putting out records. She ain't goin' nowhere, and now more than ever people will be looking towards that super star Jackson, and she and Michael are the ones in that family. And she does sound like Michael. Alot. Eerily so in some of her songs.

No hope necessary. Her many records and achievements plus longevity speak for themselves. She does have alot of haters, though. The bulk of these chicks out today have molded themselves off of her one way or another (videos, tours, choreography, etc). There's an amusing video on Youtube called "Janet Jackson Copycats" that is a testament to that fact.

there needs to be hope. with three flops in a row and a failed concert tour she needs to have some hope things aren't automatic for her any longer

Are Jam & Lewis even relevent anymore? Don't get me wrong. I'm a fan of their 80's and 90's productions but can they be counted on to revive Janet's career? And if they can't, then who can? She's already tried using "today's" prouducers like Jermaine Dupri and others... hmmm

Damita Jo and 20 Y.O. didn't flop confuse The hope is that she actually has a hand in this next project which I believe she does. With her last 2 albums she wasn't being herself at all. She was trying to appeal to the urban market confused when pop made her.

i think Discipline was her best album of this decade. DJ and 20YO were more marketed at the Urban scene and D was more pop.

Well, three platinum-shipped top 5 albums, with the last one debuting at #1, by Janet-standards may be condidered flopping by some, but in todays wishy-washy music landscape, those are pretty solid numbers, particuarly for an artist who has been around so long. BTW, I was at her DC show, and the house was packed.

falloff Are you serious?

IMO, Damita Jo is her best album of this decade it has elements of each genre so it wasn't really directed for the urban market. All Nite (Don't Stop) is pop. The album is a masterpiece that was just overshadowed by the whole Superbowl fiasco. Discipline is just bland (3/5 stars) confused I only like a few songs and the ballads are just embarrassing compared to her classic ones.

Lol, I really don't hear it. Michael and Janet don't sound alike to me. Maybe only in Janet's song "What's Your Name" or "Enjoy" I hear similarities but that's it. She wouldn't be able to do most of MJ's songs, no one can for the most part. Michael's voice is stronger and he had more range. Not trying to put Janet down so don't come at me JJ stans lol, but I honestly don't hear how they sound "so much alike". They don't at all. Janet sounds more like Randy than Michael to me.

I agree that Damita Jo underperformed because of the inanity that was the bruhaha over the Superbowl. All Nite is one of her best dance tracks ever, and Island Life is as top-40 friendly as u can get. Same with Rock With U and Luv from Discipline, which were extremely pop-radio friendly and HOT tracks.

Yea, Luv is urban-pop and it could've done very well on radio and Rock With U overseas. But some man by the name of LA Reid mishandled her evil

LOL not a STAN, but I am a long-time JJ fan. It's more in the vocal inflections and ad-libs that she and MJ do where they sound alike, not to mention when she puts out a rock track (listen to Trust a Try from the All For You album and tell me she doesn't sound like Mike) that their vocal similarities shine. And on Got til It's Gone and Enjoy (which you mentioned) she sounds almost identical to him at times. She did a remake of the Randy-sung "One More Chance" during the janet. era, and if you listen to both versions back-to-back they really don't sound much alike.

Yea and in Scream they sound almost identical! Jimmy Jam might've advised MJ to sing with a gritty voice so people won't get confused lol and on Janet's debut album the track Love and My Bestfriend sounds just exactly like little MJ. I played it for my sister and she thought it was him lol Also Janet sounds like MJ in Can't B Good . A fan actually lowered Janet's voice and it sounds like MJ!
