Disney forced her to edit Vogue,
It makes no difference if you're black or white
If you're a boy or a girl

the last part was originally if your straight or gay.

How could Disney do that? The album wasn't released by Disney and that song really had no connection to the movie. I've actually been listening to the album a lot lately. Whatever the case is, hopefully Madonna can have some real freedom here to do whatever the fuck she wants and do it her way.

Disney owned the name Breathless Mahoney and since Dick Tracy was released by Disney movies instead of one of their other studios they use for more adult audiences, they had control over what was over the album because of the use of the Trademarks they owned.

Rumored Tracklist of The Week

hmmm "Dear Jessie" is an odd choice.

Once again, songs like "Angel","Causing A Commotion" and "Keep It Together" are being neglected rolleyes

I didn't see "Who's That Girl" right away but there it is. You can't please everyone but "Dear Jessie"? That's catering to the UK too much! (somebody said it was top five). Also "Music" OR "Rain"...sure!

Actually Dear Jessie had a better chart run in the UK than either Express Yourself or Cherish. But that tracklist is totally fake. Notice the song 'Used To Be My Playground'? lol

love

I know 'Dear Jessie' is treated like 'Arms Of Orion' in the Madonna fan community lol (i.e. some people think she wrote it in 3 minutes, spat out the vocals and ran out of the studio) but I love it!! touched I hope it's on this compilation.

Me too. Actually I am surprised by it. I remember around 1991-1992 a friend of mine called it just a little song and before a few days I played it to another friend of me and he had a similar reaction. I think it is one of her best songs to be honest, definitely better than Cherish, True Blue or Deeper And Deeper.for example. But I guess it won't be on the compilation

I love Dear Jessie and Arms of Orion lol
But honestly, i wouldn't mind Dear Jessie being on the compilation though i'd much rather have a completely remastered Like a Prayer album at this point.

36 tracks including Revolver and Celebration will be on the album.

This makes 18 on each.

Dear Jessie is one of those songs... I used to love it. I don't know why. Because I absolutely detest it now. I hate that it was released as a single anywhere, because I hate having to include it on my 4-disc comprehensive singles collection (yes, it really does take 4 discs now. exactly. even with edits.) its b-side Till Death Do Us Part would have made a better single, I think. or at least a more tolerable looking back at her discography 20 years later lol

maybe 18 on each. the early hits and the newer hits are pretty short, but that stretch in the middle was consistently 4:30 or almost 5 minutes per song. depends on how they arrange the tracklisting, i guess.

I feel the same way about Dear Jessie. I loved it when LAP came out, but can't listen to it now. I love Till Death Do Us Part even now. But I don't think either should be on the Greatest Hits album.

There is an official trailer and you can see what looks like a booklet, lyrics and some titles. Among those are...

Everybody
Live To Tell
Music
Don't Tell Me
Like A Prayer
Frozen
Die Another Day
Miles Away
Justify My Love

add the officially announce 4 Minutes, Express Yourself to it.

Into The Groove, Hung Up and Holiday are a sure bet anyway

So, out of the 36 song relatively sure are

Everybody
Live To Tell
Music
Don't Tell Me
Like A Prayer
Frozen
Die Another Day
Miles Away
Justify My Love
Express Yourself
Hung Up
4 Minutes
Holiday
Into The Groove
Celebration
Revolver

hmmm. interesting. if they're including Human Nature, Give It 2 Me and Get Together, then it's not really going to be a greatest hits, because with the number of ACTUAL hits she's got, some bigger hits are going to have to be left off in order to include these.

It's going to be what it always is. The hits she likes the best or can tolerate just enough. In other words, pretty much a rehash of the last collection and typical self indulgent stuff from the last three discs (if "Hollywood" ends up on there I'm done with her). I'm not having those high hopes for "Who's That Girl" anymore.

That all being said, these little things about images from videos don't mean that they are definately going to be on the collection.

oh, i HOPE they're the radio edits. i have all of them, but i want the early ones in HQ remastered sound biggrin

GHV2 was all the original single edits. except for Drowned World and maybe Human Nature? i don't remember about that one. i always use the video version
