Think about it. The industry as we know it will never be the same. The power is now becoming more and more in the hands of the artists, and with more people with music pages, only the cream of the crop will rise to the top. Even if you don't like what's at the top it won't matter, there will be thousands of other artists probably more obscure to choose from. The next decade will be unique because finally the industry will not dictate what will be the major trend, what will be the dominant genre of music. The PEOPLE will decide that. And once their is either a new movement or a new genre altogether that can relate to people or get them to boogie, hip hop will be replaced and all will be well.

NO I'm not on crack lol the future is bright.

Well that's just cuz the Cubs suck lol

But uh, somethings got to change. And I can see it happening. We're now in an age we're information is passed quickly, word of mouth is more important than actual news. Twitter updates as equally important as television media. Who's to say a really great yet obscure artist won't one day wake up and see he has 100,000 new fans thanks to Oprah or somebody saying they like this guy's music.

that's one vision.

I think, more than ever people will be listening to their own music and we'll all end up not knowing other genres. THat's why real superstars are not possible anymore. In the 60s people knew the same songs because they all listened to radio, in the 80s you collectively watched MTV.

Nowadays you've got your channel on youtube...
