Trash music you are supposed to hate - but you love it!!!

O.k., I guess we all know the feeling. There's a song or an artist which is crap. But you simply love it/him/her/them. What are your musical confessions?

Here's one of mine:

MC Sar and the Real McCoy - "Another night" (1993)

This is utter bullcrap. It's Eurotrash 120 %. But I love it!!! I was young, we had fun, and that song played. Plus, I wanted to shag the girl in the video so desparately, it's not even funny.

Come on, don't let me be the only fool here... wink

OMG, you know how everyone has a 'holiday song'?? The year that came out ('97? hmmm), my mate and I went to Zakynthos and every night - in this terrible nightclub lol - they'd play non-stop Euro-cheese (none of which we understood), except for this. It was the only song they'd play in English. We had no idea who sung it, or what it was called, but at the time - mixed with the sun, sand, sea and sangria - we thought it was a slice of genius... dancing jig excited

Fast forward a week later, after we'd returned to rainy Britain and having told all our mates about this 'Amazing!!!' song they had to hear... I still cringe every time I hear it. shake dead falloff

Here we go - straight from EL's very special German-trash-pop-teenage-girl-pseudo-rapping selection:

The girl "rapping", Young Deenay, was quite successful in Germany in the mid-90s with that shit. biggrin

Prince's face and posture in the other clip is just perfect. Hands tightly clasped over his face and his legs/back rigid. falloff falloff Whitney Houston going wild, Prince Albert getting funky and he looks like a scared animal. lol

I feel like it's time for the king and the queen of trash music:

2 Unlimited - No Limit

Damn it, that brings back memories! I wouldn't say I love the song, but it really makes me nostalgic.

I was also desparate to shag that girl. Teenage years can be tough, particularly if desire increases, but success doesn't...

Anyone who admits to having guilty musical pleasuresor or feels sheepish for liking music "they aren't supposed to like" (whatever the hell that means), is a bona fide loser.

You're cute...but the fact remains that letting society or convention dictate what music you should or shouldn't like, is wack.

Why let society pressure you into feeling guilty about music that pleases you?

Oh, so now you're claiming that you're telling people they can like whatever they like? Whatever. The pressure is wack and the person buckling under the wack pressure is wack.

And Cinnie, there's no earthly reason why you should feel ashamed for liking Mambo Number Five - you are an unique and autonomous individual who happens to like a certain song. So the fuck what?

I also don't believe in guilty pleasures. I concede that it's not the easiest thing to walk around with "embarrassing" musical opinions, though. lol
