Is it Okay To Discuss A Jacksons Track I know threads are locked around here quick Anyway, with the recent happenings I discovered "Lovely One" again I've always loved this song by the Jacksons-nice early song from them. I use to listen to this song alot as a child-don't know how I forgot this gem. Can we get some appreciation for Lovely One up in here?

we're laxing up just A LITTLE to see how everyone behaves. if people can start new jackson threads *IN MODERATION*, then we can rock some multiple threads on this forum. when this forum becomes ALL JACKSONS, ALL THE TIME!!! , then we go back to the one sticky thread encompassing all things jacksonian.
so the choice is up to you guys.

I've always found MJ's work with his brothers far more superior then his solo work
The team work, the harmonizations are all amazing!

Lovely One is the shiz. When I was younger, I never liked it for some reason. ut when I got the expanded version late last year, it just sounded great. More guitars, clearer vocals, everything.
Jackie, Michael and Randy own Triumph. PRINCE: Always and Forever

I still think this album "Triumphs" over 'Destiny'. And I also think Both 'Triumph' and 'Destiny' KILL 'Off The Wall'. If I was alive back then I would of been dissapointed by that album compared to these two, I would of thought stick to your brothers please. But one of the ones I love the most is 'Your Ways'. And as much as I love Jackie I'd love to hear a version of Michael doing 'Wondering Who', its a great song, but I think Michael would of taken it to another level with his voice.

Well of course, I Can hear Mike singing it. I'm thinking they (Jackie/Randy) wrte this track for Mike as Jackie didn't sing it in falsetto. On the other hand, Your Ways (written by Jackie) was sung by Mike in falsetto. Is it possible Mike liked one more than the other and choose that one? PRINCE: Always and Forever

I think 'Destiny' is the best Jacksons album. It's their masterpiece.I like it all the way through.Even the one filler track,"All Night Dancing",is still pretty good. That groove is relentless! 1978/79 was an amazing time to be a Jacksons fan.You had 'Destiny' followed by Michael's 'Off The Wall'(his best album). Two amazing albums in a row.
I enjoy 'Triumph' but there are a few tracks that I'm not crazy about.I never liked "Heartbreak Hotel" The lyrics are dumb."Your Ways" doesn't do much for me,either."Can You Feel It" is a bit over-blown.I like "Everybody" even though the chorus rips off Michael's superior "Get On The Floor". . Imo, "Destiny", "Triumph" "Off The Wall" all stand in their own right. All albums have their magic moments without outdoing eachother.

[Edited 7/15/09 4:02am] I feel the exact same way about Destiny. Plus the amazing artwork, the rare book-style album and sleeve photos of can't be beat. The first side is solid and the second side has one of my favorite Jacksons song, That's What You Get. Triumph was good but a big fall off although I grew to appreciate it more and more over the years. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

The team work, the harmonizations are all amazing! That's an interesting point. I've always thought MJ's solo concerts though good, weren't up to par with the concerts done when he was a member of the Jackson 5/ The Jacksons. _____ [Edited 7/15/09 5:40am]

That whole Triumph album is probably the best Jacksons album. Every song is a gem.

So far i haven't seen complete shows of the Triumph and Victory tours, but indeed some impressive moments. I think that a Destiny-show in London was broadcasted (and officially released on VHS-tape ?) back then, so i'll check that someday. I've seen the complete show from the first leg in Japan of the Bad tour and must say that it was very impressive. His voice sounds like a rock, and his movements are locked tight. I dunno, maybe it's the difference of atmosphere between the Bad\Victory-tour (more digital & synthesized) and earlier shows from Destiny/Triumph (more of that earlier soul-feel and a live horn-section). "Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)" is the funkiest Jacksons jam ever."Blame It On The Boogie" and "Things I Do For You" are just as good.Side One also boasts one of their best slow jams "Push Me Away". 'Triumph' is good but I wasn't crazy about it in 1980.It grew on me throughout the years.
