Shannon - Let the music play I just discovered this song...and it's sooo funn anyone else a fan? I think this was her debut single, what other similar songs does she have?

Another favorite of mine that was on her debut album was "Give Me Tonight". This song was later featured as a remix on one of the Ulitmate Dance Party CD's in the mid 90's. | |

Shannon's other big hit was Give Me The Night. I can only find lame remixes on Youtube.I prefer the original. | |

I was trying to decide whether to buy Shannon's album with 'Give Me Tonight' and 'Let The Music Play,' or Madonna's debut. It took me about 15-20 minutes to decide. I couldn't do both that day but wanted some new music.
I picked Madonna because I thought she'd have the bigger, longer career even though she hadn't had a Top 40 single yet. (She debuted, like Shannon, as a dance artist, not a pop artist.) Btw, I saw Madonna's being white, as a negative though because with dance music she was gonna have to dance . . .Like Michael Jackson and Prince, she realized what a camera could do if you knew what to do with the camera. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think. |

Till this day and probably for the rest of my life, I have to put up with my uncle not shutting up about me being a year old in 1984 and watching the video on his tape and feeding me french fries with ketchup and I would get happy whenever the song was on! OMG [Edited 7/18/09 13:12pm] | |

I have her album on CD but it's a german import. Apparently the full album is hard to find on CD except for the German release. Of course its on multiple sets from Shannon as well as many compilations. But be careful...in some cases they are rerecordings (although they aren't very different from the original). | |
