So do I. I wish I could give Janet a hug after that speech.

Janet is going to be the public face of the family now. She was ready otherwise there is no way she could have kept it together on stage. She is the best person to speak about Michael as she was probably the closest to him, growing up and otherwise. Damn right!

well all in all the BET awards was a disgrace this show should have been structured with more class. We lost one of the most important artist in history
There is a time and place for everything and most of what was shown was WAY OUT OF ORDER.

I think it was kind of a weird statement that the entire family thought it was "too painful" to go out there, so they sent the baby of the family -- and the closest to Michael -- to represent them!! ...When Joseph's crazy butt was right there!! I have no choice but to respect their family dynamics and choices, but they get odder and odder in my mind. [Edited 6/28/09 21:05pm] As dysfunctional as they have been for many years, The Jacksons are always full of surprises. We should NEVER expect anything less (especially from Joseph). There is a time and place for everything and most of what was shown was WAY OUT OF ORDER. Even though it wasn't put together so well (they only had a coupla days) I am happy for the parts that were good. Neyo was good and he was sincere. Jamie and Neyo did a good job the end. The whole O'jay segment was on point. BBD woke the crowd up and Maxwell added warmth/inspiration to the energy of it. He was refreshing. I didn't watch lil wayne and bird. I expected it to be garbage. The parts that were good were really good. I really felt for Janet.

The only two good parts were The O'Jay's and Maxwell.
And Janet at the end. Her face told a story we'll never truly know. She summed it up the best. "To you, he's an icon. But to us, he's our brother. He's family."

i believe janet saved someones life by showing her face.
call me crazy but i just feel like her presence comforted a multitude. i know she comforted me. we still have the jacksons. michael's memory lives within us and within that family. we need to support them. ...then he turned to me and said "I dare you".

I watched from the pre show. I was bored out of my mind and waiting for some talent...any talent. At least Jeremih could play and sing at the same time.
I loved Keith Sweat, The O'Jays, Maxwell, and BBD. New Edition? WTH was that? What happened to Ralph's voice? They should have let Johnny Gill jump in. I was sad. Lil' Wayne and all the bleeping should have been totally deleted. Everytime they showed Joe's face laughing, I wanted to smack him. I held it together better than I thought, until I saw Janet walk out. I lost it then. Poor baby... "Let love be your perfect weapon..." ~~Andy Biersack

I missed the opener. ....but this was probably the best one that I've seen so far. I guess it's because of the MJ tributes. Queen Latifah was right.....the mood there did seem more genuine than previous awards shows. I thought they thought pretty quick on their feet with changing the show plans. Considering the lack of time, they did better than when the Grammys paid tribute to James Brown. They still should've canceled Lil Wayne & Soulja Boy. They kinda killed the MJ themed tributes they had going.
LOL @ them getting on Don Cornelius for taking forever. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)
