no contest, this is my absolute favorite.

1984 is my next favorite.

all their other albums, eh, i like a handful of songs from each of 'em, and the rest is kinda filler to me.

Oh my... tough question.

But I'm probably gonna go with "sweet dreams" followed closely by "savage."

My favorite Eurythmics track - "The Walk" - is on sweet dreams, and every song is killer.

But I love all their albums. I just listened to 1984 at work today, and it still sounds brilliant.

They are arguably my second favorite artist after Prince. I simply adore them!

My favorite album would be Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This), which encapsulates everything that I love about them, but I really enjoy all 9 of their studio albums.

I'd rank them this way:

Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This): 5 stars
1984: For the Love of Big Brother: 5 stars
Touch: 5 stars
Peace: 5 stars
In the Garden: 5 stars
Savage: 4.5 stars
Revenge: 4.5 stars
Be Yourself Tonight: 4 stars
We Too Are One: 4 stars

Savage.

Glad to see it's getting so much love, definitely seemed overlooked when it came out.

I tend to prefer Annie with a little messy production underneath that perfect pitch, and Savage gets that balance right with both the weirdo electronic stuff and the rockin' tracks. Conceptually too, it was such a fun time--androgynous Annie camping it up as a girly girl who like manly men.

It's great to see all this love for Savage. I see it mentioned more and more as new fans continue to discover it. I loved it when it came out, even though it didn't perform very well on the charts - - but it seems to have grown a bit of a cult following over the last 20 years.

It really is a terrific record.

I loved it from its release also. I think it's their strongest (or at least coolest) conceptually. I love it's DRAMA and how it flows so perfectly from song to song. The songs, for me are almost "scenes".

And though after itunes came into the picture I ended up downloading the version with all the mixes added at the end, I still prefer the original release.

I definitely feel that Eurythmics were at their peak from 1981 to 1984. Synth pop and new wave were dying in 1984, so that had to change up their sound to adapt to the times, launching a successful second coming as a pop/rock band. Savage is probably the most interesting album they released after 1984, and it is definitely the weirdest since that time. However, Dave and Annie basically hated each other at the time and didn't speak to each other. They recorded most of the album separately, and I think that shows through a bit. As such, it's a minor miracle that the album is as good as it is. It's a fun, wacky record, but I don't think it's as compelling or essential as their 1981-1984 material.

I have to say the greatest hits is the best for me. I love their music, but SO many good songs, and a Greatest Hits is truly the best way to love them. But I do love "You Hurt Me and I Hate You".

I think all of their compilations are pretty poorly put together, in all honesty. They tend to leave out In the Garden and 1984 altogether and often skimp on the Savage tracks as well. A true singles comp would be a great idea (along with B-sides).

Something like:

1. Never Gonna Cry Again
2. Belinda
3. This Is the House
4. The Walk
5. Love Is a Stranger
6. Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)
7. Who's That Girl?
8. Right By Your Side
9. Here Comes the Rain Again
10. Sexcrime (1984)
11. Julia
12. Would I Lie to You?
13. There Must Be an Angel (Playing with My Heart)
14. Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves
15. It's Alright (Baby's Coming Back)

16. When Tomorrow Comes
17. Thorn in My Side
18. Miracle of Love
19. Missionary Man
20. Beethoven (I Love to Listen to)
21. Shame
22. I Need a Man
23. You Have Placed a Chill in My Heart
24. Revival
25. Don't Ask me Why
26. The King and Queen of America
27. Angel
28. (My, My) Baby's Gonna Cry
29. I Saved the World Today
30. 17 Again
31. Peace Is Just a Word
32. I've Got a Life

33. Le Sinistre
34. Heartbeat, Heartbeat
35. 4/4 in Leather
36. Home Is Where the Heart Is
37. Dr. Trash
38. Step on the Beast
39. Invisible Hands
40. Monkey, Monkey
41. Satellite of Love
42. Baby's Gone Blue
43. You Take Some Lentils... And You Take Some Rice
44. ABC Freeform
45. Grown Up Girls
46. Tous les Garcons et les Filles
47. Precious
48. Rich Girl
49. See No Evil

They def could be better. My favorite songs though, are:

Missionary Man
Would I Lie To You?
I Need A Man
Right By Your Side
Sisters
Who's That Girl?
Thorn In My Side
You Hurt Me (And I hate You)

anything else is cake.

i realize who i'm talking to here, but let's TRY to keep in mind that a subjective opinion can't necessarily be "right" or "wrong".

i'm happy that they are what they are in your world. let them be what they are in my world. good? good.

As much as I love them, and I'm not belittling their influence and talent, in reality, they probably are a singles band. No one REALLY remembers an album. Ask people and they'll say "Sweet Dreams" or "Missionary Man". Few people would bring up "OMG I love the Revenge album!" Folks barely remember the 1984 soundtrack (although the movie wasn't that popular either).

Sweet Dreams and Touch, Here comes the rain again, was the first song I loved all the way through, I emorised the lyrics and got the Annie Lennox pathos down to a tee. I was not yet 8
