What does this song mean? Does it mean you are on the prowl hunting for appetizers? The message you are about to hear are not meant for transmission. Should ONLY be accessed in the privacy of your mind. Words are so intense so if you dare to listen.Take off your clothes and meet me between the lines.

I always wondered that myself. On one hand, you can just take it as a lonely, different soul, searching for a like-minded companion.... on the spooky tip, though...consider this famous line, from the original 1931 version of Dracula --The vampire hears wolves howling outside the castle, and utters to Jonathan Harker... "Listen! The Children of the Night! What sweet music they make...." ... [Edited 6/18/09 18:37pm] " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

In the liner notes to the 'Best of the Jones Girls' CD,it claims that the song is about homosexuality... looking for someone who is just like me....looking for some company

I love that version, as well as the original by the Stylistics... I prefer this original version. It's got a haunting arrangement.I like how their remake of Carole King's "It's Too Late" segues right into this song.
