Donnie - "Turn Around"/ "If I Were You"/ "Do You Know" ...
Like Frank Mccomb, Donnie seemed to have that Stevie Wonder /Donny Hathaway feel.... A handful from his albums, The Colored Section(2002), and The Daily News(2007) Produced by Steve "Scotsman" Harvey... Turn Around ... If I Were You http://www.youtube.com/wa...PL&index=7 ... 911 Do You Know You Got A Friend ... His debut is one of the strongest I've ever heard of ANY debut. The Colored Section is a must-have for soul enthusiasts. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

I agree! Though some may think it's a little too close to the original role models like Stevie and Donny Hathaway, There's no denying the feel and talent. Another reason why the sounds are so sincere -- Producer Steve "Scotsman" Harvey actually uses great recording and session artists from the 70's. As with his Frank McComb production, Harvey featured personnel like the late Billy Preston on keyboards, The Rufus rhythm section of Tony Maiden and Bobby Watson on Guitar and Bass, along with and Earth Wind and Fire's Al McKay on Guitar, also Sekou Bunch (Tom Browne's hit "Thighs High") on Bass, and pairs them with newer players like Kaidi Tatham (Keys percussion) Wayne Linsey and IG Culture on Moog , and Synths, and programming, and Louis JR. Van Taylor and Louis Gonzalez on woodwinds. Proof that music can still sound like this, if you use the musicians who were there, and are still here... ... Good shit, bruh. I didn't know that. And yeah, I'm definitely cool with his Stevie/Donny vibe, THAT'S what makes the CD so damn off the hook! nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher
