But Trent's got a sizable, devoted, fanbase, and a vibrant online connection to his fans Prince could learn a thing or two from. Moreover, Trent probably doesn't want to end up being 70 years old and still performing teenage angst songs live

He could probably do very well the rest of his life just releasing things online directly to his fans. NIN's fanbase, dare I say it, are probably as devout as The Smiths fans of the 80s.
