This article makes me want to hear that album even more!

I'd love to simply go through Motown's vaults and just raid that muthafucka dry lol

Hell, you know Stevie's vault got some serious gems....but he won't let us hear them pout

Of all my favorite artists, I'd like to go into the vaults of
Stevie
Michael
The Brothers Johnson
Marvin
Minnie Riperton
Leroy Burgess
The Style Council

Motown does a little better releasing stuff in the past years but they still sit on ALOT. Yeah I'd love to go through their vault and then some. Not just hear the songs itself, rather I'd wanna have the master tapes, so you can hear every instrument and vocal track separately. lol

sneakin' shit out of the building under your jacket lol

Bringing piles of blank CDs to work lol

When I heard a snippet of the original 1974 version of Stevie's "Cryin' Through The Night" it made me mad he's holding on to this stuff

and Michael? The minute I heard Got The Hots, I was floored. Thinking "This bastard's been holding THIS back?!"

A little part of me died inside when it faded out lol

There's some stuff I'd love to hear. The classical stuff he was writing back in '79, You Not Me (some of the lyrics were later used in This Had To Be), The Price of Fame, In The Life of Chico, the solo version of Why, the 1983 version of Dirty Diana....alot of stuff

That's exactly what I would do. lol

Yeah at "Cryin Through The Night" and he does that a lot, The 70s live instrumentation kicks the cold synth sound of the "Characters" version's ass... A lot of his songs just sit there for years even a beauty of a song like "Overjoyed" he kept for at least seven years before putting it on record. That's all kinds of wrong.

As for Michael, yep same story. Stevie and Mike got that crazyness in common, sitting on their stuff. I had that same feeling when I heard "Monkey Business" years ago and that's a demo too. Funky. That's some lower register Mike vocals right there. I felt like calling all the brothers for a pillow fight 5 against 1.

Aww man, I went truly off when I heard Monkey Business lol

Like in 2004 or 2005, someone sent me a CD that had

Serious Effect
Monkey Business
Keep The Faith (demo)
For All Time
In The Closet (demo)
Dangerous (demo)
If You Don't Love Me

then Work That Body and She Got It leaked....

Some stuff from Bad may leak soon too

I'm trying to get my hands on some stuff that's registered at the US Library of Congress. On their site, they say they send copies to people who request and pay for them

so if I can get something...

Somebody on MJJC may be able to get the 1987 performance of Bad of Michael and Stevie singing it as a duet eek

I have all those songs, Mike has some gems laying around, "She Got It" that's some Prince esque funky stuff right there. I also love the Bassline in the "In The Closet" demo too during the chorus.

Some more stuff from Bad may leak huh... I remember when the "Bad Session Tapes" were on E-Bay, I just didn't have the money to buy it. lol

I'll lurking around. though the upcoming time.

Sounds good about the Libary of Congress good luck with that man.

Seriously about Stevie and Mike? eek It's the same show where they sang "Just Good Friends" right in Sydney? Stevie stayed for "Bad" on stage. Didn't know they performed it together though! I know Stevie dug the production and song "Bad" a lot, although the second half of his own song "Ordinary Pain" from "Songs In The Key Of Life" sounds a lot like it. Check it out and see. cool

I agree with Harlepolis. Why can't they include that 1973 unreleased MJ album produced by Stevie Wonder??

If you wanna go kidnap Stevie and hold him hostage until he releases the tapes or some hardcore Motown collector becomes generous, we won't see those session tapes released mad

SoulAlive, how many times do I say this?

MOTOWN OR SONY LEGACY NEEDS TO HIRE ME TO WORK ON REISSUES! lol

I would've added:
Got To Be There (Single Stereo Version)
Ben (Original Movie Version)
Ain't No Sunshine (Alternate Mix)
We're Almost There (DJ Spinna Mix)
Take Me Back (Single Version)
Farewell My Summer Love (Extended Version)
I've Gotta Be Me

and at least 10 more unreleased tracks

So how about it, SoulAlive. Wanna kidnap Stevie? lol

Some collectors have some stuff but they've only shared snippets mad

They also need to remaster Stevie's albums too, especially Characters

His entire shit needs to be remastered WITH unreleased material, that's probably the reason for the hold-up.

Perhaps because he doesn't think they're good enough. Some artists are perfectionists and anything that ain't perfect is trash. If this is true, he'd NOT be the 1st one to destroy stuff he thinks is not up to snuff.
