Cinnie Party Rockin' Playlist (vinyl only) - WITH VIDEO LINKS I DJ'd last night at the release party for Ricca Razor Sharp's new CD, Causeways & C-Trains. After we watched all of the sets and Ricca Razor Sharp's new video, "Dance To The New Drum", I started my set. Actually, the only video link that doesn't totally match is "Here He Comes" because I couldn't find a video for DJ Day's remix (but it is the last song on his MySpace).

Sooooo many of these songs bring back awesome memories for me! They really take me back to specific moments in my life! "Summertime" [1991] Home for Summer Vacation from College " OPP!!!!" [1991] Loved it and had no idea what the hell OPP meant, and still don't "Hippychick" Soho [1990] Drunken college nights on Sobe, 60's fashion was back in then and we were all wearing A-line minis, hot pants and go-go boots! "Alphabet Street" Prince [1988] Cruising down to the lake at the Art Museum with my high school love and fellow Prince-heads "Tennessee" Arrested Development [1992] Playing this every morning to get "my get up and go" on "Hobo Scratch" Malcolm McLaren [1982] Lisening to Mama's British boys like Elton, the Stones, and Bowie and thinking over the next couple years I had to expose her to this, Culture Club, and Depeche Mode to keep her updated "Stand Back" Stevie Nicks [1983] Still being scared of Stevie Nicks because I always thought she was a witch "When Doves Cry" Prince [1984] "The Glamorous Life" Sheila E. [1984] The bestest, bestest, bestest time to be a teenager listening to pop. It was the apex of all things Prince for me "Sunshowers " M.I.A. [2005] Nooooo! I still can't accept this over the original "People Everyday (Metamorphosis Mix)" Arrested Development [1992] Feeling really grown up for the first time thinking about what my values were as a young adult. "Tom's Diner" DNA featuring Suzanne Vega [1990] Another club favorite...but I remember the original from high school....? Can't wait to get a taste at how all the songs have been remixed! "The Glamorous Life" Sheila E. [1984] The bestest, bestest, bestest time to be a teenager listening to pop. It was the apex of all things Prince for me I like how I managed to squeeze in 3 Prince (or related) songs in a 29 song set. [Edited 6/17/09 19:49pm]

Ottie, I was 12 in 1984 and it's still the most earth shaking year musically speaking for me.
