Yeah Bob Marley had ladies waiting in line. Mama Marley was okay with it! She used to bring women up to his room to sleep with him, when he was during his concerts, and getting high on weed. If you watch those tapes on his life, you would be shocked!  In their culture the first wife gets more honor.
Mr. Bob Marley was NOT stingy with his LOVE!  That's what I find odd about it: that Rita would allow her husband to fool around. Guess that's how it goes down. If he had been a soul singer, he would've been cast as a ho.  According to Rita (I've read her book), she and Bob pretty much lived separately from around 1972 or so. She and the kids never lived at 56 Hope Rd, but would always be there (hence her getting shot in 76). Of course they never divorced and had an off an on relationship...after all, Stephanie happened!  That's a whole 'nother story tho.
I don't think she was so pleased about it, but she looked at it as apart of being a Rasta woman and in some ways a Jamaican woman. He was supposed to go out and "be fruitful and multiply" according to their Rasta beliefs. The only woman that seemed to bother her was Miss World, Cindy Breakspeare (Damian/Jr. Gong's mother). Cindy's still a babe in her mid 50s. She's got a little singing career for herself (jazz) and gets all sorts of coverage in the Jamaica Gleaner as a socialite du jour. There's been talk of a Marley movie and apparently Lauryn Hill's being considered for Rita. From what I gather, Rita aproves. What do y'all think about this? | |

Well Im not trying to be funny but Rita was not easy on the eyes! "She kinda favored aunt Esther from Sanford and Son"!  Like I said they are true to their culture, so Lauryn can have as many babies as she wants to by Rohan, he ain't leaving his wifey.
I heard Lauryn was a candidate to play Rita as well. That girl is a looney tune cartoon right now. Dang Bob Marley got 9 kids and only 4 with Rita. Cindy Breakspeare was very pretty. That is cold that Bob was introducing Rita as his sister. Yeah I think she might do pretty good acting as Rita Marley.

Bob had at least 11 KNOWN kids by 9-10 diff women than Rita, but logically he had far more kids than we know about! Rita's not that great looking but she looks better in motion than still pics suggests. She's quite soft spoken and has a charm. Lauryn, of course, is far more conventionally attractive, but I can see why Bob dug Rita. BTW, did you know Aunt Esther was quite a babe when she was young? Luwanda Page was a showgirl in fact. I have no idea of what happened as she aged . Maybe it was makeup!
matthewgrant every so often Lauryn will show up at weird times and places, but I'm surprised that she had dates too. Maybe she should start out again doing a single date here and there rather than trying anytying ambitious. | |

Like brooksie posted above, I also believe that Lauryn just wasn't really ready to be a superstar. She may have never really wanted to be a superstar to begin with. After winning all those awards and getting all that popularity and praise, she was probably over the whole scene and decided to move on to other things. If she didn't seem looney toons at the moment, I would commend her for turning her back on something she didn't truly agree with and believe in, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Oh well, if she's a great mom and happy with being just that, then that's all that should really matter in the end because children should take precedence over everything else.
