This is one album from Q I hadn't ever heard the entire way through. I've only heard bits and pieces. THis album is definitely a classic. Great arrangements and songs. My favorite being "Summer In The City", which you probably recognize.

I totally feel you on that. I got it from yourmusic.com . I love their service, but I had to cut it out for a while. It's only $7 a month.

I loved his take of Stevie's You've Got It Bad Girl. I've never heard the album entirely tho. I'm trying to find the Body Heat and Sounds & Stuff Like That albums.

Nice grab.

Superb arrangement of the Lovin' Spoonful classic!

Another beautiful tune from a great album featuring the sublime harmonica of Toots Thielemans...

...Eyes Of Love

Now you've also got Streetbeater (more commonly known as the theme from Sanford & Son) and...

...Chump Change (used for The New Bill Cosby Show)

I might suggest any one of these.

Walking in Space (1969)
Smackwater Jack (1971)
Body Heat (1974)
Mellow Madness (1975)

I see those all of the time. I think that Verve is reissuing a lot of his catalog. The cd said it was a remaster at a special price.

YOU HAVE TO GET THE DUDE!!!! It is essential in any music collection. Not to mention Sounds and Stuff Like That.

I liked Back On The Block and Jook Joint. Jook Joint is mostly a look back at his career. He redid a lot of songs that he had a connection with on there. "Rock With You", "Do Nothing Til You Hear From Me", "Let The Good Times Roll", etc. All remakes. There were more than that, but I can't remember right now.

Back On The Block is really good also. It's more commonly known for "Secret Garden", but "We Be Doing It" is damn good. I was so pissed it wasn't the 2nd or 3rd single. It was much better than the Siedah Garret tune they released.

Yeah, The Dude is a definite masterpiece. I always consider it to be the cousin to Michael's Off The Wall. Every home should have a copy!

I have 'Stuff Like That' and 'The Dude',gotta get some of his other 70s albums.I used to have 'Q's Jook Joint' but I eventually got rid of it.It's a bloated mess, with a million guest stars! I know he appreciates today's music and hip hop,but I don't wanna hear those artists on a Quincy Jones album. If he does another album like that,I won't buy it.

Several years ago,he was working on a new CD and some of the guest artists mentioned were Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson (pre-Tittygate) as well as Dr.Dre and Snoop Dogg.I'm glad he (apparently) cancelled this project.

The remixes were just as bad as the album version. I'm not a big BJ fan, but that was wrong what they did to that song.

Yep, wasn't good at all. Overall though Q is the man, he has done so much musically.
