tevin vs whitney

I have often thought this, Tevin Campbell is one of the top male vocalist I've heard in the past 16 years. Even though he's not out right now w/ anything new. I just caught him on youtube live drinking a beer at some club singing I'm ready and the boy vocally is no joke. But I've always thought he sounded like a male whitney houston when she was at her best. personally I think he's capable of alot more. he's a beast. anyone here feel me?

I agree. Vocally, I think he patterned himself after her. I noticed, when he was popular, he even tapped his microphone the same way she did to keep on beat. Might be his idol, like Chaka is Rahsaan's.

His voice kinda reminds me of both Whitney and Patti (in some levels) because of the type of vocals he strives for. It's like you can hear Whitney & Patti in him the way you can hear Chaka in Rahsaan.

Brilliant observation, my good man.

Haha, thanks. I followed Tevin's career too (seeing I grew up listening to him) so I could tell there was more than Nippy in him. lol
