Not all MJ fans but a lot of the newer fans of them are a highly sensitive bunch who dont take criticism of their idol very well. hear hear. people shouldn't be told what they should or shouldn't post, particuarly when it's clear that some don't even bother reading what's posted. i'm not suggesting anyone moves to MJ sites to post, only to bear in mind that this isn't an MJ site and not everyone thinks the sun shines out of his arse, and not everyone who posts something that some might consider negative is a hater. i enjoy contributing, and i've added some interesting articles, and not all of them could be considered negative, such as the glove dude and the waxworks, and if the article comes with a crap stock photo i'll use something more interesting instead. if the article is tabloid crap, then it's only fitting to use an appropriately crap photo to highlight the stupidity of it all. if tabloid articles bother you, then i think it's an issue you need to address within yourself Yes! LOL @ that outfit! Lets see, leopard print pants and a white shirt with some bazaar looking designs underneath the blinged-out jacket--I imagine a person could get dizzy just looking at his outfit!

My take on it, is that yes initially MJ used backing tapes to assist in the vocals during dance numbers, but as time and tours went on he became more reliant on them, including as you mention some ballads. Personally I don't agree with the whole lipsynching thing. And would rather have Michael sing and stand still than bother about elaborate dance routines.
Now does the fact he lipsynchs ballads therefore prove his voice is shot? Not necessarily. In my opinion it is due more to the unfortunate perfectionist streak in Michael where he feels he has to be 100% on point and pitch in order to entertain. Rightly or wrongly the greater scrutiny he feels he is under in terms of world press etc, the more reliant he is on backing tracks. Now note I'm not making excuses, but offering an alternative point of view. This is illogical. If he's trying to be a perfectionist, then why why would he sing anything live at all? Why on the Bad Tour did he only mime two songs? If perfectionism was the goal, then why only make two songs "perfect"? And you are still clinging to the discredited idea that he only mimes because he's dancing. You said... "Personally I don't agree with the whole lipsynching thing. And would rather have Michael sing and stand still than bother about elaborate dance routines." But there are no dance routines in "Heal The World" and "You Are Not Alone" yet he mimes them. By contrast, there's a lot of dancing in "Wanna Be Starting Something", yet he sings that live. Surely you can see that these facts DEMOLISH your theory about him miming because of heavy dancing. You're also ignoring the fact that MIchael's live vocals have declined over the years. Each tour he sounded worse and each tour had more miming. Is it just a coincidence that the increase in miming coincided with a decrease in the quality of his live vocals? Please think.
