So are we saying the only way out of this for him would've been to violently assault Bruno? That's how a respectable rapper can save his career when faced with a career-destroying homo? These are just hypothetical questions. I'm not expecting any answers that will make sense to me.

I think I remembered Danzig getting knocked out but I forgot where... can you refresh my memory?

You do realize that homophobia AND anti-gay attitudes in the USA are now going to get worst because of this. Gay rights will suffer another setback no thanks to Bruno. It's about time Eminem took a pie in the face (or in this case...something grosser than pie). It's funny that someone mentioned how MTV makes and than loves to break their stars. After the Britney fiasco two years ago, I think everyone assumed it was all they were good at and that no pop star should even try to impress the MTV audience since they only specialize in the cheapest reality TV around (and frankly, at least VH1 does it better, by putting on shows with "charatcers" and games, rather than pretending to actually keep it real). Anyway, Eminem's latest song is called "We Made You" (and it contains one of the laziest, lamest pop choruses ever for a hit song). Time he truly got a taste of his own meddience. Will Bruno make people more homophobic? I wonder what Cohen's intentions are with this film. Borat was hilarious on the surface and truly made you think about racism as well as naivete.. This character is so outrageous, will there be any thinking or just more outrageous stunts? We'll have to wait and see.

I seriously doubt that (besides there's no such as thing as being "more homohater"). Knowing Sacha, this was a ploy to sell the movie, I think it probably worked. Even with cheap-ass MTV, the fact Sacha is getting people talking about mooning Eminem will make his publicity worth it. Anyway, it's too bad Sacha didn't have a song to go along with it: [Edited 5/31/09 23:26pm]

It was no accident that of all of the celebrities, Eminem ended up as the victim. If nothing else, MTV producers knew the seating arrangements for all the celebrities beforehand, including Em. THIS is the same rap artist that took homophobia AND anti-gay attitudes to new heights with The Marshall Mathers LP from years ago. Some people in the LGBT communities are now thinking that payback was long overdue and Sacha made it possible.

I know jokes have always been part of the award shows, but the whole network just comes across as tacky now and immature. Its like they hold a grudge now against all the older artists from the past decade to earlier on like MJ, Eminem, Britney, Janet, etc. etc. [Edited 5/31/09 22:15pm] [Edited 5/31/09 22:16pm] MTV is now tacky and immature.
